  Liked: The room is okay and clean.

  Disliked: I've booked one of the rooms just outside the town walls. The place and room was ok, but the Booking amenities listing said it had a swimming pool which was actually 2km away from the accommodation. The swimming pool and scenery is stunning though, but just not close by as expected. Also, the check-in was not at the accommodation place, which was not handy for us as we'd been hiking all day and didn't have a car. In the end, the check in person was ok to meet up at the accommodation though. Also, there were no duvet provided, only a thin blanket for two people. When asked for an extra blanket, the person said it was not cold enough for one. (It was cold.) Finally, the communication prior to arrival was not easy. Their map of accommodations is confusing and I had to ask many questions via messages to better understand.

  Everything we hoped for and more

  Liked: This was the perfect stay in San Gimignano. A balance between a central accommodation in the town (with incredible views from the Il Tortoli apartment) plus access to the countryside Ponte e Nappo for days by the pool. Wonderful hospitality from everyone. Cannot recommend highly enough and make sure you book in for the family dinner at Ponte e Nappo if you stay on. Monday or Thursday night. Carla’s home cooking was our best meal in San Gimignano. We stayed five nights.

  Disliked: If staying in the peak of summer you would miss air conditioning in the apartment, but it was fine for our stay in early September with temps still in the high 20’sC

  Great location in centre of town

  Liked: The family who run this property are lovely, helpful people. Check-in was at the sister property outside of town but they gave us a lift into town with our bags. The location of the property is excellent.5 mins walk to centre of town. Lots of great restaurants 5 mins walk. The property is quite big, lounge has a sofa and large dining table. 2 bedrooms are a good size one has air conditioning. Kitchen is adequate. We ate out every night but I feel it lacks enough crockery and pans, bowls if you were a group of 4 wanting to cook in. Bathroom is reasonable size. A big plus is its sister property is a 15 min walk outside of town and has pool, restaurant and facilities you can use. We parked our car there for the week so didn’t pay any charges in town.

  Disliked: Not enough equipment in the kitchen.

  Perfect location!

  Liked: Great location in the middle of the centre. The second location in the countryside has a swimming pool, which we were allowed to use as well, even after check out! Parking there was free, in the centre it is not (and you can only park outside the centre at an Parcheggio) but they accommodate the possibility to get in the centres’ traffic zone to (un)load. Beautiful authentic place, good breakfast

  Disliked: The bed was not comfortable: the mattress was very much sagged and the pillows very thin (so we used our own pillows). There is no airconditioning but they have fans. We texted that the fans made rattle sounds, they gave another one and fixed them! The bath/shower leaks a little which made the floor wet, for what we used one of the towels to dry. Eventhough the breakfast was good and there were enough options (sweet and savory), we found it a bit strange and awkward that we couldn’t grab the bread, cheese/meat of cakes ourselves. Finally, something the accommodation can’t control, but because it’s in the centre, there were some cars/trucks early in the morning on the square that made noises that woke me up. All by all a good accommodation, perfect location, good breakfast and friendly staff

  Beautiful accommodation and location!

  Liked: Wonderful location, we very much enjoyed the pool and only a short distance by car from the accommodation to the pool. Lovely hosts, very helpful and a beautiful village to stay in.

  Disliked: The beds were a little hard, a mattress topper would be good.
