We would come back and stay again and recommend it to people

Liked: The Lake view room had a wonderful view and the room was surprisingly very quiet despite traffic on the road. The room was very clean. Breakfast room is wonderful and breakfast was very nice. Staff were all very friendly and courteous, especially in the bar.

Disliked: The shower was just okay. Small and water pressure wasn’t great. The bathroom floor tile was too slippery. I put towels down to avoid slipping. The hallway to the room was just okay and often smelled of cleaning chemicals. The cleaning staff was loud outside talking.

Liked: Nice welcoming from the staff, good location

Disliked: Very old facility, we got a room which was not renewed at all, with very old carpets on the floor and old furniture, the bad was old and bad, very hard. We had our 12 year old daughter with us and she got a cot to sleep on but she couldn’t sleep on it because it was very bad the mattress was unusable, it was old, hard and she could easily fall off. So we had 3 rather not nice sleeping nights with our daughter sleeping in our queen size bed (like 3 adults sleeping in the same bed). And we were disappointed because we saw into other rooms when they were cleaning and they were with better facilities. It was also noisy, we heard a lot from other rooms and the cleaning staff started to vacuum before 8 o’clock in the mornings and woke us up.

    WONDERFUL STAY WITH EXCEPTIONAL STAFF

Liked: Wonderful staff in this beautiful family-run hotel. Far exceeded our expectation as some Stesa hotels are infamous for being very unfriendly. The breakfast team in particular were exceptional. ( as were the croissants )

    Disliked: .

    Wonderful

    Liked: Everything

Disliked: Restaurant only had set menu for dinner which did appeal to us every night. We would have eaten there for often if it was ala carte

A generally enjoyable stay due to location of the hotel, views and pleasant nature of the staff

Liked: General appearance, staffing and location of the hotel were all very good. You had the 'feel' that you were staying at a 'grand hotel' in the best part of the town. Superb view from the bedroom across the lake which never failed to impressed at all times.

Disliked: The hotel (or at least the location of our room) had one major flaw which was internal soundproofing. We could clearly hear usage of bathrooms on both sides plus voices in one adjacent bedroom. The walls sounded as though they were created of solid block and not just timber and board so I could not understand how adjacent sounds were so clear. I suggest if this hotel wishes to improve quality at nights it could this without too much loss of space in each room by adding an extra layer of soundproofing between the suites - an inch or two of additional 'cladding' should solve the problem. I also felt the evening dinner meus were limited in choice and originality which meant that we ate out in town every night of our stay when at least on one night we would have liked to 'eat in'. I suspect the hotel is losing business due to this as I didn't see the dining room busy at any time in the evening whereas the choice and costs of restaurants in the adjacent town centre was excellent.
