Exceptional
Amazing place with amazing host!
Liked: Our host Mauro was very friendly, highly flexible with an additional request we had - and gave us some home made Pasta & red wine. Really impressive service. The apartment was very big, super clean, 2 bathrooms - also exceptional. Finally, the location in Ortigia means everything is in walking distance. I can only recommend!
Great host, good location, variable quality of the rooms
Liked: the host was very helpful. The location was good - a few blocks from the busy historic center.
Disliked: I imagine there were larger more comfortable rooms, perhaps with better views, but ours was awkwardly small, and opened into a dark, slightly smelly, courtyard.
Suave and retri elegance
Liked: There are very good hosts and locations but very few cross the gauge of exceeding your expectations. Authentica Ortiga exceeded our performance gauges. The location was superb on the island of Ortiga which is the highlight of Siracusa. The owners were stupendous with Lisa setting a whole new benchmark of what it is to be a host by being extremely informative and helpful. The apartment was confidently retro to display Piet Mondrian inspired terrazzo flooring with stylish aplomb and panache. This was an apartment proud to be old but elegant. It was nearby the Temple of Apollo and very walkable to elegant restaurants yet far enough from the kitsch and vulgar.

Disliked: Awful room! Booked a room with a balcony didn’t respite it would be 2ft square and look over a building site. Only book sea view rooms or be very disappointed.
