Fabulous
Lovely staff and breakfast, but the room and shower could be improved
Liked: The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast buffet was really nice.
Disliked: The room had too much old furniture that didn’t serve much purpose, making it feel cluttered. The shower water was not hot enough.
Liked: My expectations were pretty low, because it's Venice and according to my previous experience it's super hard to find a nice place with a reasonable price. But Rivamare exceeded all my expectations, it was clean and nice and even had a breakfast and everything with a reasonable price. It might not be the most convenient place if your main goal is to explore Venice, as you need to always take the vaporetto (3-day ticket 45e) (and bus) to the sights, but travelling with the vaporetto was an experience as such, so I didn't mind spending that much time on the boat.
Liked: Staff friendly and helpful Breakfast variety was huge and really tasty. It's easy to get to the hotel by bus.
It was fine but overpriced
Liked: The girl at the front desk was lovely and very helpful when we had to move room. She always had a smile for us which was nice and was friendly and welcoming.
Disliked: The room were all very noisy. We were on the ground floor in room 11 and it was so noisy it was very uncomfortable, the room above and the hallway. We moved to room 30 which was better but still we were woken up every morning around 6am or 7am by loud moving noises upstairs. They should provide ear plugs. The breakfast was supposed to be fabulous but it wasn't. It was fine but very bread heavy - no fresh vegetables or salad (apart from a few leaves in the morning). After staying for 6 night s we felt that we had to eat so much bread there and sugar it didn't feel very healthy and always the same. I cannot eat egg so that also meant there was no hot option apart from toast, toast, toast! No tea and coffee making facilities in the room was a shame. After a very long journey to arrive late at night we couldn't even get a drink in our room. Disappointing. We had to leave our bags for the day and there was no locked room to put our valuables so we had to carry them with us all day. Our bags were just kept behind some chairs in reception. This could be much better, to provide custoemrs with some security.
