Exceptional
Hotel luxury at an Airbnb price!
Liked: The owner Carlos met us at the airport and gave us a ride to the property, which we really appreciated. I don't think they do this for all guests! We rented 2 apartments, Unit 1 for me and my husband, and Unit 3 for my two adult children. The property was impeccably clean and appeared to be a recent high-end renovation of a historic building, with lovely original wood ceilings and exposed stone doorframes. Both apartments were roomy and had fully equipped kitchens and washer/dryer machines as well as cute details throughout (see photos). The units faced the street, but exterior noise was minimized when we closed the balcony shutters. Location was A+ and a less than 5 min walk to the marina and the main plaza/restaurants, so we did not need to rent a car. One of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed in!
Disliked: Beds were a bit firm for our liking. I would suggest adding a shower caddy/shelf in the showers of both units and a small table in the Unit 3 bathroom to hold personal toiletries. There wasn't really anything else to criticize.
An amazing stay
Liked: This would have to be one of the best apartments we have stayed in. A beautiful heritage space restored with great respect and attention to detail. The bedroom was spacious with a huge, incredibly comfortable bed, and the living room was equally comfortable and inviting. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed, and we loved being able to see the water from the balcony window. The location was perfect — close to amazing restaurants and within easy walking distance of all the sights in town. A wonderful place to stay and one we would highly recommend.
A beautiful place in a great location
Liked: This is a wonderful apartment in a great location. It is immaculate and well taken care of, and is probably the nicest place in town. It has been recently renovated in a very tasteful style, and the owner has retained the original wooden beam ceilings, which are beautiful. It is very roomy, and is more like a well loved home. The owner, Carlos is a very friendly and interesting fellow. He was quite accommodating, as my plane was delayed, but he waited for me to arrive so he could give me a tour of the house. He takes great personal pride in the property, as he should. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The main square is very close, as are restaurants, shops and a grocery store. Parking is usually available right in front of the building, and is only 3 or 4 Euros per night on weekdays.
Disliked: Nothing
Liked: After almost four weeks, we arrived on Terceira, our fifth island. Casa de Foro was a real highlight for us. From the warm welcome with lots of information to our departure, the booking was a complete success. The apartment's size makes it ideal for long-term stays. The small courtyard, the many little restaurants, and the proximity to supermarkets... everything was just perfect. It's also worth mentioning that Maria and Carlos were always available. Carlos even offered to pick us up several times from somewhere on the island, as he was working nearby. Thanks again for everything.

Disliked: Second apartment was not so good, it was difficult to open the windows.
