Exceptional
Enjoyable few days in delightful Aveiro. Love it here and hope to return
Liked: The apartment had everything needed for our holiday. It was a few minutes walk from the hub and canals. Paulo was an excellent host.
Disliked: Know it's personal preference but the beds weren't too comfortable. Also we knew there wasn't a lift but we coped. Paulo helped with our luggage when we arrived.

Liked: The location couldn’t be better—so close to lots of restaurants and the river. At the price point, I rate this a 10. If the price goes up, I might feel differently. This apartment exudes “coastal vacation.” So much colorful art on the walls. It’s very cheerful. The owner is friendly and so helpful. He provided a lot of written tourist information and maps. The apartment has lots of windows and natural light. Truly, nothing has been forgotten! There are instructions on how to use the coffee makers, labels on some of the switches and outlets, ample towels, a cord to keep the bedroom door from slamming shut if it’s windy while the windows are open, and the kitchen is well-stocked, including some “leftover” food staples that we didn’t use. If, like me, you prefer a bit more minimalist approach, you can put some of the tourist information in storage while you’re there. One of the bedrooms also serves as the living room. This was fine with us, but it might bother some people.
Disliked: For some people, there will be just too much “stuff” everywhere! I don’t care for opened food left in a rental apartment. I would have preferred a separate living room.
Perfect accomodation in a lovely town
Liked: It's all there. Maps, rcommended walking routes, recommended restaurants, recommended boat tours too. Be aware that this is a 2nd level apartment with stairs, but the owner was helpful in moving luggage up, and offered to come to help bring luggage down. Aveiro is a lovely city, and the host reflects this as well.
Disliked: Stairs.

Overall, it was a fun stay, great location and we just ate out a lot. We loved Aveiro, great city. Highly recommend it
Liked: Great location, but if you don’t want celebration noise then you might think it’s too noisy. We were there during Festas de São Gonçalinho January 8-12th. We loved it, the first day of celebration, loud parties till 3am, the other nights till 2am. Lots of fun, lots of people, restaurants full, it was fantastic! Portugués people really know how to have a good time! The beds and pillows were comfortable in both rooms. We had a small balcony with some view. It was raining on and off so we didn’t get a chance to sit out. Our host Paulo was extremely helpful with tour maps and restaurant recommendations.
Disliked: It wasn’t as clean as one would like it, the towels were old and strained. There was a lot of stuff everywhere, it felt cluttered. The Teflon pans were scratched up which can release toxic fumes so we unfortunately didn’t cook which we usually do. The coffee machine with the small pods didn’t work, so we used our own instant coffee, not as good. Paulo wanted to charge us 5 euros every time we used the dryer. The dryer was listed in booking.coms description so we were quite surprised of that additional charge. We mentioned it to Paulo and at first he argued it and then he said it was okay to use it at no charge. That was one of our criteria’s when looking for a place. There was a laundry mat a block over where the dryer cost was 2-3 euros depending on weight. We were very pleased that Paulo changed his mind and accommodated us. Thank you for that!
