Beautiful historic building in the centre of Beja

Liked: Fantastic historic building in the centre of Beja, with complimentary secure parking. We stayed in a very spacious standard room with lots of old features such as the doors, windows, window shutters etc. The public spaces were huge and it felt like a very special place to spend a few nights. The choice of food at breakfast was excellent and the orange juice was freshly squeezed, always a plus! The Pousada was located in the centre of the old town and was just a short walk away from the castle, the museum and the park.

Disliked: Some of the public areas could have been a little cleaner, the lamp in the restaurant behind our table was full of cobwebs as was the window in the restaurant. There was only one hotel team member working in the breakfast room trying to take room numbers from people, clear and relay tables as well as replenish the breakfast buffet. Far too much for just one person which meant fairly long waiting times if something had run out. Unfortunately, I think we went to breakfast at a peak time as there was no juice, eggs, yogurt, cheese or pastries available for quite a while.

A comfortable, peaceful stay. I left feeling relaxed and energised. Enjoyed watching the red sky and sun rising from the

Liked: Location. Very quiet. Free parking within the hotel. Walking distance to sight seeing and restaurants/cafe. The hotel was stunning as a converted convent very well done and the rooms. For sleeping the room was very comfortable and quiet.

Disliked: The bathrooms are beautifully fitted out but could do with upgrading.

    Was OK but not perfect!!!!

Liked: The historial nature of the Pousada. Stunning. Exceptionally nice, helpful staff.

Disliked: The pool was not good. A liner pool with very unacceptable levels, very slippery. Not the cleanest and the garden area between the bar and the pool very scruffy and unkept. No hot water on morning two. Water in room not replaced on night two. No fresh orange juice for breakfast, a MUST in Portugal. Poor quality cold meats and cheeses.
