  Excellent hotel in the centre of Braga with underground parking

  Liked: The location is excellent, in the centre of Braga, and with underground parking (paid 15 Euros per day but it was worth it). The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with a large bed and good size bathroom. Also had a mini fridge which we didn't expect. It had a balcony overlooking the streets so could be a bit noisy, but it was still nice to sit out. have a coffee and watch the world go by. The room had air-conditioning. Communication was good, they would answer messages very quickly. We did use the restaurant which was reasonably priced and the food was very nice, with a good choice. The swimming pool was closed for the season (end of September) so obviously didn't use.

  Disliked: Unfortunately the Wi-Fi was very slow and unsecure so just ended up using our phones in the end.

  Liked: Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located within 10 minutes walk of the city centre. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. Large smart TV available in each room. The evening meal was nice with a good selection and reasonably priced.

  Disliked: I had to change rooms twice. The first change was due to groundwater leaking from one of the ceiling light fixtures in the bathroom Which was obviously the health hazard given the electricity and the water looked like it was coming from the upstairs toilet. I reported this quickly and was told that a workman would repair it. But the problem remained. So my room was changed the following day but the TV in the Next Room wasn't working properly. So I had to change rooms again. The car parking at the hotel was expensive. Given I was a guest, I think it should have been free. The breakfast wasn't particularly good and pretty basic. I was charged for a bottle of water which cost very little. In most hotels I've stayed in before, they always provide a bottle of water free. I thought that was a little bit mean. There were no basic toiletries in the bathroom apart from liquid soap. The second room did have toiletries but I was told that this was an upgrade as compensation for the previous room. But then when they moved me into the third room, I was put back down to basic.

  Great placement, amazing rooftop pool

  Liked: Ideal location with very good rooms and, especially, a rooftop pool with an amazing virs over Braga. Helpful staff and many good ideas such as a screen showing the landmarks of Braga and how far they were, the two bars in the rooftop and first floor, and a device to call taxis.
