We could not speak any Portuguese but our hostess was delightful
Liked: Lovely old building
Disliked: Scented air freshener was very dominant
As good as a country house hotel gets
Liked: An enchanting property with a marvellous location and a warm welcome. Highly recommended
Disliked: Remember to ask where the breakfast room is, we did, and the breakfast was excellent, but another couple of guests couldn't find it
Liked: Lovely and well-preserved in true Portuguese fashion.
Disliked: Guarda itself was a little disappointing. Not much life nor much to do in the evening. More a place to visit than to stop over, other than overnight on a road trip.

Quiet location in pretty city with few tourists

Disliked: One way traffic to access around cathedral was confusing
Like staying back in time but with modern amenities
Liked: Small boutique hotel right in heart of old town. Perfect room with new modern bathroom. Staff were excellent and breakfast was plentiful parking on site was just what you needed because it can get a bit crowded.
