Fabulous
Personal interaction
Liked: What breakfast? Good location and comfortable.
A lovely central place for a romantic stay, with good cooking facilities
Liked: 9/10:) Recommended! Very well-located for visiting both Guimarães and Braga. A lovely house, with a very well-equipped kitchen. So many plates and little coffee cups and saucers! The coffee machine and coffee pods were good. The balcony and terrace were relaxing- a nice place to eat, drink, and relax.
Disliked: The bedroom was great, except..... a mosquito net over the bedroom windows is necessary- we got very bitten by insects at night. In summer heat a fan in the bedroom is also good. The other things are little ones, cheaply and easily remedied: The kitchen just needed some more bowls and mugs. Some salt, pepper, oil, and some herbs or spices would be good. A cloth and some cleaning fluid would be useful in the bathroom. It was very clean, but other guests left toothpaste marks. The balcony and terrace needed a bit of colour- even some artificial plants or flowers would help, and maybe some candles:) In small hotels, it would be useful to let guests know how many other people are staying, especially with a shared bathroom.
Hugely overpriced
Liked: Bathroom is ok
Disliked: Room is so tiny you can barely walk around the bed and it's glaringly obvious that no effort or resource has been put in renovation or even decoration for decades. You can hear every step of other guests and the air in the whole space is saturated with toxic room scent. Hugely overpriced.
Liked: Location (it's near everything), comfi bed and excellent pillows (by my taste), spaceus bathroom, functional air-conditioning.
Disliked: Lack of towel hangers in the bathroom; the room ha a little bit of odor, but like mixed with perfume (hard to explain), at the end it's nothing to worry about, it's not very strong, you just need toa ventilate the room by opening the window/door.
Excellent accomodation
Great building in a great location!
Liked: CTR Guesthouse was in a lovely building in a fantastic location. While I stayed there it was almost radio silent. I barely interacted with anyone coming in and out and in the common area. I had the top floor to myself which meant I had a bathroom to myself as well. The bathroom was super clean and the shower was a nice size. There is one other room upstairs but it was unoccupied. I stayed Sunday-Tuesday so I think that could be why. The kitchen and dining room downstairs are massive and you have tons of space and cookware. I really appreciated the complimentary coffee. The location was amazing. Walking distance right in the middle of the bus station, a large grocery store, and Old Town. Everything was in about a ten minute walk. It was honestly incredible. I would recommend this place if you want some peace and quite or if you are in a group and wanted to rent out some rooms for a longer stay. My only complaint is that the internet wasn't super fast but it still functioned and wasn't that big of a deal. If you need to get work done maybe something to consider.
