  Cannot understand how this place can get four stars as it was the poorest place we stayed at in Portugal. I would find a

  Liked: Like on the pictures

  Disliked: I never write bad reviews but I have to warn other travellers. The house is near a main road which has traffic all night and the insulation is bad so we could not sleep all night because if the background noise. In addition, the studios all have a window above the entrance door to the corridor, which has automated lights so you get woken up every time the automatic lights in the corridor comes on, which is frequent. The corridor lights eventually got stuck on in the night and never turned off such as we had light in the room, and could not sleep. There was no way of turning the lights on. Also, the shower evacuation was clogged up so taking a shower without flooding the place was a challenge. Finally there was not even enough coffee cups to make a double coffee for two people in the room.

  Great, comfy stay near the heart of Guimaraes

  Liked: Place was spacious and clean, the beds were really comfortable and the kitchen was lovely. Really close to the historical downtown of Guimaraes which is lovely and close to shopping.

  Very comfortable and clean, close to everything in Gumaraes

  Liked: We only spent a night, but the place was really nice, comfortable and clean. Appreciated the AC and the closeness to stores and the historical downtown.

  Disliked: It a loft so the beds are up a flight of stairs, we had a small child with us and did not have any issues going up and down, but maybe not the best place to stay with small children.

  Decent place

  Liked: Location is great - 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Room facilities were clean. Private parking is available. All doors are keyless, which is a plus.

  Disliked: The noise insulation is pretty non-existent. One can hear what is happening in other rooms. Also, if the room is next to the main entrance - the sound of buzzer and door opening/closing is quite loud. The stair to the bed is quite steep, so one has to be very careful when descending.

  Beautiful period property is amazing condition

  Liked: The property is stunning and very well located for walking and seeing all the beautiful sights Guimarães has to offer.

  Disliked: The only thing that could be an issue for people is that there is a hospital next door.

  While the price is attractive and the building itself is charming, the lack of cleanliness and poor service significantl

  Liked: In theory, this is a charming property in a restored house, but in reality, the experience was quite disappointing. Service and cleanliness were the main issues. Regarding noise, the situation was somewhat better than expected given the location on a busy road. However, once the nearby water fountain is turned off at night, traffic noise becomes more noticeable despite the renewed windows. Guests looking for a quieter stay should request rooms 107, 105, or 106, which are positioned more favorably. But all rooms have glass windows above the doors and with the lights in the hallway, the apartments can’t be fully dark making sleep more difficult. The location is on the outskirts of the historic town and still walkable, but requiring a bit of a longer walk. On-site parking is available, which is a positive aspect.

  Disliked: Prior to arrival, we asked whether an early check-in (one hour earlier) would be possible if the apartment was already ready. Initially, the host indicated we could check on the day. However, upon arrival - even after receiving the access code - it did not work, and we were told it would only be activated at the official check-in time, despite the apartment being ready. This lack of flexibility and inconsistency in communication set the tone for the stay. The cleanliness was very poor: While the essentials such as fresh bed linen were provided, the rest of the apartment appeared insufficiently cleaned and this for several days, e.g. the staircase and floors were dusty, the kitchen contained half-empty water bottles and visible sugar residues on the table, and the bathroom showed clear signs of dirt, hairs and stains.
