Wonderful rural stay with animals
Liked: A unique way to explore Alentejo views. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, and live nearby. This place (quinta) offers neighborhood with many fun animals: meerkats, giant tortoise, donkeys, lama, pony and, of course, countless cats. Which a great fun for kids. The jacuzzi equiped terrace faces the east, so you enjoy beautiful sunrises and pasture views. The bungallow itself may be a bit cold in the nights, but AC heats it well.
Beautiful relaxing place to spend a few nights
Liked: Loved this property. Stayed in one off the small studio apartments with a hot tub in the deck an expansive views. Also had a very eclectic collection of animals including meerkats and an African turtle. 🙏 The hosts are lovely and the breakfast is very good.

Magical location, awesome hosts, wish we could stay longer!
Liked: Monte Santa Catarina is in a magical area in the Alentejo. Beautiful landscape and so quiet - at night we heard only the soft sound of cowbells and frogs in the fields. Our room was big with a great view of the Monsaraz castle - and the air conditioning worked great. Breakfast was lovely with a wide variety (even vegan options) and delicious homemade orange cake. The hosts were great - recommended a fabulous local restaurant for dinner and tips on other things to see in the area. We visited the Alqueva Dark Sky Observatory for star gazing (1 minute drive), Monsaraz (5 minute drive) and the Alqueva Lake (5 minute drive). The property also has a fantastic pool and outdoor lounging area to relax in.
Small but perfect for a one night dark sky experience or Monsaraz visit
Liked: Easy check in lovely host. Proximity to town and the dark sky experience. The private jacuzzi and separate apartment. Menagerie of animals was a curio for sure. On site parking good.
Disliked: The bed was not comfy. But ok for one night. Public areas could be cleaned up some.
