Exceptional
Fabulous views, lovely apartment and hot tub
Liked: First impressions were great! The apartment is lovely and the view was incredible with a huge balcony overlooking the Atlantic ocean and marina. It was so easy to get in with easy to follow instructions from the managing company Feathers. The kitchen was reasonably well stocked with utensils and there was a cupboard with some oil, balsamic vinegar etc which was a nice surprise. The bathroom was huge with a great shower and good water pressure and the bed was comfortable. I liked the electric shutters on all the windows which meant there was no light coming in the bedroom at night. The gym downstairs, although small, provided everything we needed. The smart TV was huge with Netflix etc and it was easy to use the HDMI for our own Firestick. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the roof everyday - sometimes at sunset, other times in the evening watching the stars, overlooking the sea. This is a great addition to the apartment.
Disliked: The apartment could have been so much better. The furnishings are cheap - the sofa seat cushions keep falling forward, there are only 2 additional low quality cushions on the sofa, there is very little furniture generally and what is there is cheap. There is no mat on the floor when you enter ( we sometimes had wet, or sandy shoes), and no hooks to hang up any coats (we were often wet). It would have been so easy to add that - there is lots of wall space. We stayed 2 weeks and were not offered a free mid-stay clean, but also not given anything apart from a useless brush and pan to keep the apartment clean. Adding a cupboard in the apartment to store a mop/bucket and vacuum cleaner is highly recommended. Although the bed is comfortable, the pillows were awful. We had read this in previous reviews and brought our own to help, but really? We also had a power cut due to the bathroom fan not being cleaned and the elevator in the building was constantly out of order. Having said that, without the brilliant management company, Feathers, who were always available at the end of a whatsapp, our stay would not have been nearly as good as it was!
Super contemporary and efficient but not sure it's the 8th Wonder
Liked: Spacious, modern and large open areas for kitchen, eating and relaxing. There's a large balcony overlooking to the west, and Nazaré coastline. We were on the 3rd floor with a helpful elevator. The upper terrace is also available, although we didn't use it as we were not sure if they were condo-unit specific. This Marvista Residence, actual namesake, is located almost at the end of a local road, high above Nazaré to the south. These rental condos are property managed. Not a bad thing! Instructions and info was provided by email or text msg with no actual contact with someone. In this day and age, and type of accommodation, it was pretty straightforward. Parking at the complex was plentiful (at this time of the season). Pool was available but way too cold to use even when sunny. We were about 8 minutes away from the downtown cores of either Nazaré or Sitio (where the waves are viewed). A couple of minutes more to the north and you're shopping for daily requirements at Continente, Lidl or Aldi. Lots of options for the best pricing for all your meals should you choose to cook or prepare your own. We always had breakfast at the condo. So... We had to buy coffee pods for the Nespresso-type coffee maker, which we preferred. Also paper towels (0.99€ @ Continente) to complement the two dish towels provided. There's a dishwasher with 3x detergent pods. Water supply at the kitchen sink was extremely weak, but dishwasher and bathroom were OK. Known issue by management btw. No laundry facilities although there was a foldable crying rack in the unit. Some other misgivings would have made our stay exceptional such as extra towels (two sets of two towels for two people over 5 nights), better instructions on how to use the appliances (stove, dishwasher), mini-split systems (2x), and shared info on the use of toilet blinds for all the windows and doors. We found manuals luckily in our language, but this was not communicated to us.
Nice views but wouldn't stay again
Liked: Beautiful views but you need a car. Nice size apartment, feels clean.
Disliked: Elevator was out for our entire stay. Really bad pillows on the bed. They do not provide enough toilet paper for your stay or any kleenex. Little things but expected. Far from town, definitely need a car. Cheap furnishings
