Fabulous
Liked: the setting with books all over the walls. Room 15 was absolutely great
Charming old hotel right next to the city walls
Liked: Towers of books in every common area. Lovely homemade jams, plenty of choices for my vegan sister, and excellent for me the omnivore. Such a comfy dining area for hanging out. The separate library downstairs may be where I bring my book club next year!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Literary Man owing to the excellent staff and great restaurant
Liked: Unique setting and room layout. Great restaurant. Very friendly staff.
Disliked: Some of the carpets were very worn and obviously need replacing.
Liked: breakfast was amazing. We went at an off time and the room was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. However, since it is an old establishment it does have potential to be noisy and might hear people coming and going. Overall, it was charming, comfortable and clean.
Liked: Perfect location, staff and meals
Disliked: Insufficient heating in october
A unique hotel
Liked: The location is excellent, and the public areas and lobby are exceptionally beautiful and unique—this is what makes the hotel so interesting. The breakfast is excellent and varied. The option for dinner is very convenient, and both the food and the bar are of a high standard. The staff is wonderful and helpful.
Disliked: The room is large but basic in terms of amenities, and minimalist in style; the shower had a noticeable smell of dampness. There is a disparity between the quality, comfort, and aesthetic appeal of the public areas and the level of amenities and comfort found in the rooms.
