Perfect location, generous rooms with great beds, wonderful view from balcony, helpful staff

Disliked: Unfriendly staff when we arrived Staff in restaurant battle with English Street parking and a bit of a walk with bags. I suggest packing a smaller bag for this stay and leave larger bags in the car if you're driving. I thought we were going to be in the winelands but we were in the small town. Cute though

Nice stay in Lamego
Liked: the hotel seems to be part of the castelo and is near to the city centre.
Disliked: via booking there was an additional extra mentioned as "Unlimited spa access", but there was nothing special or in addition in regard of my reservation. The SPA area was closed and reserved for additional treatment like massage etc., so no additional extra. This is misleading and should be clarified between Booking.com and the hotel. I got the normal usage as for standard reservation. The in-house pool at the lower level (-1) in the building could be improved in terms of light, music, general appearance to make it more pleasant experience. The towels the hotel hands out only in exchange for a card (to prevent theft) are small and of poor quality—nobody would steal them anyway, so what’s the point of the cards?
