Five days in family
Liked: - Orlando is a very kind host: we had a very easy chat to arrange for the check in and he invited us to a saturday evening barbecue with his family: it was very nice meet and speak with them! He also gave us some tips to visit places in the island. - The room in very nice and it is located inside Orlando's apartment: the bathroom is private, inside the room, and everything is very clean. You can find a fridge and a café machine too. The kitchen is in common with Orlando, but you can use it without problems. - The free parking is in front of the house, located in a safe neighborhood. - Quality/price rate very high
Liked: We had a good time in Cabo da Vila. Orlando was very welcoming and even a night check-in was not a problem. Communication was perfect. The place has a great location - close to the city center, but enough far to be in a calm zone, with non problematic parking. There is a shared garden with swimming pool, tables, barbecue place.
Disliked: I did not realize there is a shared kitchen. Maybe it is a reason why it was not always totally clean to my standards. The kitchen space would deserve more cleaning attention. Overall I would describe the house clean, however The biggest minus was the presence of cockroaches in our upper family suite. We found 4 of them during our 5 days stay. 1 each day.... Not sure from where they were appearing. Maybe from kitchen downstairs? Really not sure, but definitely not a nice surprise during our stay.
Shared luxurious villa in great central location
Liked: As a large family house turned guesthouse, it had a lot of luxuries, like a big bath tub and large terrace. The location is very convenient: A quiet neighborhood in walking distance to the largest grocery store in the area and only 10 min walk to Old town and city beach. Orlando was also a very kind host, sharing his space and knowledge readily and being very responsive.
Disliked: Could be a bit cleaner in details (e.g. stove, water stains).
Wonderful stay in Ribeira Grande!
Liked: Orlando is a wonderful host and very accommodating, the location is ideal and the little apartment was all we needed and more.
Disliked: The only minor point worth mentioning is that there are two very friendly dogs on the property. They do bark occasionally, and on a few nights the barking kept some of us awake. It wasn’t a major issue for us, but if you’re particularly sensitive to noise while sleeping, it’s something to keep in mind.
Liked: The host was amazing and very generous. The location was perfect.
Disliked: I didn't realize it was a shared kitchen. But it was clean and well stocked!
