Exceptional
Enchanting and peaceful oasis with incredible hospitality
Liked: This is a very charming and enchanting place - very peaceful and very well executed. The staff were friendly, warm and welcoming, the evening meal in the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was outstanding. When we arrived, we were greeted by Bianca, who showed us around the hotel and the facilities, and then showed us to our room. This was a really nice touch - she was warm and welcoming, just what you need after a long journey.
Disliked: I am sad we only stayed for one night and that we did not stay for two nights.
Liked: Huge garden was lovely to walk and relax.
Disliked: Decor to dark, poor lighting on stairs so potential tripping hazard for elderly people No separate bathroom, just a separate cubicle for toilet and shower with wash basin in the bedroom despite ample space in room. Not to everyone's taste. Everything constructed of sheet steel including furniture in dark brown colours. Restaurant was expensive
Fabulous hotel, fabulous location, don’t miss it
Liked: Estelle on reception is a truly wonderful person, it’s perfect for taking the ferry and the hotel is unique, beautifully designed
Disliked: I liked all of it - it is a bit pricey but, given that I bought a superior room, really great
Liked: Staff very helpful and friendly. Interesting old building. Good breakfast. Good location heading from or to Santander ferry. Easy to park.
Disliked: Bedroom lighting not very good.
Beautiful rural converted convent. Very comfortable
Liked: Very quiet rural setting. Perfect for our trip from Santander to Portugal. Historic building that’s been renovated to a high standard, while keeping the sense of the original convent. Small restaurant, good food.
Disliked: The shower could have been more powerful
Great stop for Santander ferry
Liked: Good beer garden, and outdoor seating was good, comfortable beds, quirky rooms, secure parking, staff very helpful. Beautiful gardens would make a good wedding venue
Disliked: Rooms a little dark, no evening bar, more comfortable dining chairs, Breakfast not good value for money not in keeping with the rest of the hotel, hot food was cold. No croissants, etc.
