  Deposit withheld, personal insults and unfounded accusations – a deeply distressing experience as a woman travelling alo

  Liked: Valle del Infierno wäre eine zutreffendere Beschreibung dieses Ortes und seiner Bewohner….besonders für alleinreisende Frauen nicht zu empfehlen!

  Disliked: The accommodation is a converted garage with a tiny window, little privacy and difficult access by car. Before arrival, the host demanded a €200 cash deposit and a copy of my ID, promising to return the deposit at checkout. Although I left the property clean and caused no damage, he refused to return my money, claiming Booking.com had not yet paid him. As a woman travelling alone, I felt increasingly intimidated by the two hosts and became so frightened that I had to leave the property in a hurry. Afterwards, I received an abusive voice message containing insults and humiliating remarks. The host explicitly stated that I would not get my money back because I was a “horrible person”. He falsely accused me of drug use, drunkenness and mental confusion. He also claimed that I had drunkenly fallen against and damaged his gate, threatened to send me a repair bill and stated that he would hand everything over to his lawyer. I strongly deny these allegations. Even worse, in his public response to my review, he falsely accused me of locking my dogs inside the property. My dogs were never there! They were safely at home with my friend and her daughter, which I can prove with photographs and witnesses. I consider these public accusations defamatory. I have reported the incidents to Booking.com and initiated legal action. My €200 deposit remains unpaid. An extremely distressing and frightening experience. I strongly warn others against booking this property.

  Absolutely Wonderful

  Liked: The facilities were fantastic and very well kept. Paul was an absolute gentleman and could not have been more accommodating. I fully intend to make a return visit. Could not recommend Mijas Paradise Anex highly enough

  "Edens garden" with a view

  Liked: This was more than a clean room and good service. This was "Edens garden" with a view. Because when I travel solo as a girl with dog, I either get worried for not feeling safe or that the dog gets stressed. This is the first time besides from home that I did'nt feel anything of that. Paul and his partner were welcoming, gave you space and at the same time there when needed. Made sure that I and my dog had the best stay. And the neighborhood felt safe and calm. Close to the Mijac city who had affordable shops, bars, restaurants. If you like to hike there is a beautiful (and aromatic) trail with lavender, Rosemary and other herbs close by.
