Where to stay in the province of Málaga
Málaga city
Málaga has a pedestrian centre with museums, the Alcazaba and the port, and a town beach at La Malagueta. It is a good base without a car: the local train runs to the airport, Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola.
Costa del Sol
From Nerja in the east to Estepona in the west, this coast has the widest choice of hotels and aparthotels in Andalusia. Marbella and Puerto Banús are the most exclusive area; Nerja and Frigiliana are quieter.
Inland
Ronda, Antequera with El Torcal and its dolmens, and the Caminito del Rey walkway are the main inland sights. The villages of the Axarquía and the Serranía de Ronda have rural hotels.
