Beautiful building with poorly thought out cheap renovation choices

Liked: Location was great and the building was beautiful with a super history attached to it. Really liked that we had two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Disliked: The apartment (number 14) was a two bed apartment, but they had clearly not thought about the comfort of guests staying there. There was a space with a tv and sofa, but there was only enough room for two people to sit down. The kitchen was very tight and although it had a table in there, it was not possible for all four guests to sit at it comfortably. Also, when they had done the refurbishment. Someone had the bright idea to use MDF in the bathroom, so it had become moist and expanded. The door frame was expanded, the window surround had expanded, behind the wash basin and the kitchen sink had done the same. If two people are showering at the same time the water goes hot and cold. The downstairs shower only worked with the hand held and not the overhead.

Liked: The rooms were big and spacious. Big comfortable bed. Plenty of hangers for clothes and big wardrobe. Great shower. Lots of fluffy towels. Comfortable seating area. The building is beautiful. Great location, easy to get to coffee shops, restaurants, the beach without a car. We liked it as it didn't feel like you were in the tourist area but an easy walk to the Cathedral.

  Disliked: Nothing.

We woukd stay again - really enjoyed everything

Liked: It was a really beautiful property. Spacious and very comfortable. Great location.

Disliked: We struggled to contact the property in advance and thought we had submitted our docs but hadn’t. It was fine because the receptionist was very helpful but not sure if it would have been so easy if it had been out of hours.
