  Disliked: Hi, we stayed at the RVHotels Spa Vila de Caldes, and it was a really bad experience. We were given an access code for the hotel but couldn't get in, so I called the phone number; after many attempts, we finally got through to someone, but she didn't speak English, so that didn't help. Then I managed to speak with a hotel guest from Spain. So I got him to call them; he spoke with them, and we got a new code, though the whole process took about two hours. We got up to the hotel room and there was no fridge—there had been one at some point, as there were wires in the cabinet. We went up to check out the pool area; it was very worn—old, dilapidated furniture and a pool that wasn't particularly clean. On the second day, we wanted breakfast; the hotel claims to offer it, but they actually don't—you have to find food somewhere else in the city. We asked the housekeeping staff if there was a spa or breakfast, but there wasn't. We went out for breakfast, came back, and couldn't get back into our hotel room. We got someone to call—someone who spoke Spanish—and we received a new code and managed to get back in; the place had been cleaned, but the cleaning was very poor. We decided to spend one more night there and find another hotel. That hotel simply doesn't deserve 4 stars; it is very poor and run-down, and it lacks the amenities they promised. We would like a refund. It has truly been the worst hotel we have ever experienced, and they just pass the buck to you, saying it is something you need to deal with. We have used Booking.com many times and are very happy booking hotels through you; it has always worked smoothly—except for this particular hotel. One other small point: when arriving at a hotel, they often struggle to locate the reservation on their computers and don't use the booking numbers you provide. As a customer, you also can't see whether the upcoming stay has already been paid for.

  Rooms could have more amenities. Great outdoors

  Liked: The room is lacking amenities. No fridge, no coffee machine. This wouldn’t be a problem if at least they had a coffee bar as advertised. There was a vending machine, but that was broken. They also advertised a hamburger bar but it seemed to be closed or under renovation. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The bathroom in particular was great, clean, decent size, and with a big bathtub. The cleaning staff was great and always did a good job. The virtual receptionist complicates things as there’s no one available to help if needed. Overall, it was a good experience but the lack of amenities in the bedrooms was very frustrating. Pool area was very clean and well maintained. Water was nice and the whole area was comfortable and pretty.
