Pleasant
Liked: 1. location - quiet part of the village as far as possible from the main road, few steps away from the trailheads, bakery + pub less than a minute walk away 2. more spatious than a hotel room, enough storage space 3. fully furnished kitchen + washing machine 4. parking space in underground garage as well as outside the building 5. clean 6. communication with owner easy via WhatsApp (he writes decent English)
Disliked: two significant negatives from our point of view: 1. the hot water tank had a capacity of 50L only. This was just about enough for two quick showers. If you like a soothing soak after a whole day walking - that’s not going to happen. 2. no internet. The choices included data roaming (not the most economical option with a new zealand sim-card) or catching a free wifi outside the local library (in rain!)
