Exceptional
Liked: For charm and character it's a 10. I loved how different it is from chain hotels, with very interesting decoration and old furniture (that's still in good shape). No problem with parking once you get used to the road as there's space. The view of the mountains is incredible, better than on photos. There aren't many hotels where you can have breakfast in such a view. The building itself looks great as well, with a very nice garden area and cute church within the complex. Everybody in the hotel was very welcoming too, especially the breakfast waiter.
Disliked: I generally had a positive experience but for the price paid I feel like they are trying to save too much money on some things like: -the food quality and quantity in the restaurant doesn't match the price, especially for the special eclipse menu that was too expensive (and despite advertising them, didn't serve oysters). Also it only opens at 20:30 and service is slow so you're not eating before 9 or later. -it's old style so I'm OK with no lift, air con and some cobwebs but in August there should be at least a fan in the room as even with the window open it gets hot. Also, there's common areas with nothing interesting in them, they could provide some games and/or tea in there to make it more enjoyable.
Perfect place to relax
Liked: The setting is spectacular. It is just 3km off the main road but you could be in another world or another time. It was so relaxing in every way, the staff were all charming and pleased to help the outdoor dining in the summer is right on the lawn with a spectacular view of the mountains. We were in the suites which were huge and exquisitely decorated with period furniture.
Charming hosts, stunning setting, delicious food and wine!
Wonderful stay with the warmest staff! Truly sad to leave
Liked: Gorgeous setting, wonderful staff. Super family friendly.
Perfect getaway spot for 2-3 days
Liked: We stayed almost one week in this lovely hotel and overall we had a very good time. The view to watch the sunset from the garden and having breakfast also in the morning outside are just unmatched feelings. Rooms are big and comfortable even though you might find some harmless spiders. Staff is very helpful and educated, trying their best to make you feel comfortable. Breakfast is really good but having tostada for 6 days in a row was a bit too much for us, we ordered some omelette and eggs and such as an extra just to change a bit. I think it’s the perfect getaway for 2-3 nights to enjoy great views, fresh air and peace.
Disliked: Almost the same breakfast for 6 days was a bit too much. Also, rooms can be cleaner and add a do not enter sign in the rooms to hang on the door. Maybe equip the rooms with a small fridge.
Very nice stay at cozy Palace
Liked: Facilites, Javier the host was very kind. Dinner service was amazing thanks to Felipe and Cintia. Breakfast was delicious despite the service was so so
Disliked: Breakfast service
