  Liked: Central, friendly staff.

  Disliked: The property faces a busy road and bars, and has good noise insulation when windows are closed. The rooms also don’t have fans or AC which is usually fine. However, when we were there the nights were very hot and we needed to open the windows to cool down. As a result we couldn’t sleep at all due to the noise from outside. We told the proprietor and asked if they could provide fans the next day. They told us they can’t because hot nights were uncommon and they couldn’t justify investing in fans. So we spent two nights unable to sleep, with early hikes the next day. It was also the same for our friend in the next room. The reality is there are more and more hot nights due to climate change, I think investing in à cheap fan is the least they can do.

  Disliked: Aunque las noches demasiado calurosas no sean muy comunes en el norte, al hospedarnos nos tocó una de ellas, un ventilador de techo o de pie en estos casos estaría muy bien. Igualmente, todo fue muy bien.

  Liked: Simple clean comfortable room. Well situated in town. Comfortable bed. A serviceable space. Fine for sleeping, washing etc. A good, no frills base..

  Disliked: Not enough surfaces in the room. No fridge or way to have a simple meal if you don't go out.

  Good for a brief visit to Cangas de Onis

  Liked: Very clean, smartly refurbished. Fine for one, I think the room would be cramped for three. They coped well with a mixture of English and Spanish and let me check in early to store my back pack. A small tip - the Pension is not connected to the adjacent Cafe, despite sharing a name.
