Fabulous
A cosy place to stay in a lovely part of Spain
Liked: A very welcoming and comfortable hotel in a charming part of Spain. Our host was super friendly and helpful (we were "difficult" guests in that we rolled up quite late in the evening and started out by asking for food - the hotel owner provided us with an improvised meal, basic but very welcome, and gave us the full check-in service despite the lateness of the hour), and the facilities were excellent. We particularly liked that the bathroom had a really powerful shower as well as a full-size bath, and that a kettle for making tea was provided at breakfast (not just a jug of tepid water, which you get in so many hotels in Europe).
Disliked: We found nothing to complain about - we had an all-round excellent stay at Mar de Queo. There was a bit of a language barrier in communicating with the staff as neither of us speak Spanish, but this did not in any way stop us from enjoying our stay.
Liked: A real piece of history. The guesthouse has two parts: one preserves the original walls and structure (I believe it dates back to the 17th century), while the front part has been renovated. The owner creates beautiful stained glass mosaic windows, which give the place a unique charm. Check-in was easy, everything was clearly explained, and we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived.

Disliked: We expected a restaurant so were surprised to have to go out for dinner. It would have been good also to have tea making facilitéis in the room.
