Central Carballo

The centre has almost everything you need for a short stay. Here are the sulphur-water spa, the church of San Xoán and the shopping streets, with cafés, bakeries and places to eat at any hour. You can run errands on foot and take a thermal bath in the evening without moving the car.

It is also the departure point for buses to A Coruña and the villages of Bergantiños. If you do not drive, sleeping here saves a lot of hassle.

Anllóns riverside walk

The streets near the river are the quietest part of town. The riverside walk follows the bank of the Anllóns among trees and green spaces, and locals use it for walking or running. It suits you if you are travelling with children or a dog, or like to start the day with a stroll before heading to the coast. The spa and the centre are a step away.

Razo and Baldaio

On the municipality's coast, everything changes. Razo is a long beach exposed to the ocean, with surf schools and scattered houses facing the sea. Further east, Baldaio adds dunes and a marsh lagoon where you can see birds.

Choose this area to spend your days between water and sand, with sunsets over the Atlantic. In return, out of season there are few places open for dinner and you need a car for almost everything.

Inland hamlets

Between the town and the sea are rural parishes with restored stone houses and rural tourism among meadows and maize fields. It suits those seeking silence who want to tour the Costa da Morte by road: Malpica and Laxe are close, and the AG-55 motorway takes you to A Coruña easily. From here it is also easy to visit the Dombate dolmen.
