  Property not what's advertised

  Liked: Property was clean,

  Disliked: Host only interested in communicating regarding getting his 350. Deposit. On arrival 1 wine glass 1 fizz glass no glass for beer, short on pillow cases and no Access to the underground parking area so we had to drag luggage and groceries a considerable distance. Constantly tried to call owner no reply. We looked at the booking.com advertisement again for the apartment and to our utter horror realised the advertisement is of a completely different property. We would not recommend anyone book this property you can't sit on the balcony because it's tiny and the air conditioner condenser is sitting at floor level pumping out superheated air.   Lovely apartment, in the middle of all the bars & restaurants in the marina

  Liked: Lovely bright, clean, modern apartment. Comfortable beds. Great location if you want to be very close to the bars & restaurants in the marina.

  Disliked: The host did not meet us on arrival. You have to transfer €300 to the host before you get the keys, we should have been told this when booking. It was refunded a couple of days after we left. The swimming pool is very uninviting with no sun shades at all. The air conditioning in the main bedroom is completely ineffective.

  One problem after another

  Disliked: ARRIVAL WAS A DISASTER. INDICATED IN ADVANCE ARRIVAL AT 4.00,TOLD SOMEONE WOULD MEET US AT APARTMENT. AT 4.30 WITH NO ONE ATTENDING, PHONED CONTACT NO. GENTLEMAN INDICATED THAT HE HAD NOT BEEN PAID BY BOOKING.COM.AND WOULD NOT RELEASE KEYS. AFTER SOME 2 HOURS OF WRANGLING IT BECAME APPARENT THAT HE WAS REQUESTING A 300 EURO BREAKAGES PAYMENT. ON TRYING TO PAY THIS AMOUNT A COUPLE OF TIMES AND FAILING, THE ROYAL BANK OF SCOT.FRAUD TEAM STOPPED ANY PAYMENT THINKING IT WAS A SCAM AND FROZE OUR CARDS. THIS TOOK A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO RESOLVE. OUR BANK WAS EXCELLENT. THE ATTITUDE OF THE MAN RESPONSIBLE FOR ALLOWING US TO GET ACCESS TO THE APARTMENT WAS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE HE ONLY GAVE US ACCESS WHEN MY WIFE HAD TO TELL HIM THAT SHE WAS RECOVERING FROM BOWEL CANCER AND NEEDED IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO APARTMENT TO DEAL WITH HYGIENE ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CONDITION. WE HAD LEFT HOME AT 2.15 A.M. THAT MORNING. IT WAS EXTREMELY STRESSFUL AND MY WIFE ENDED UP IN TEARS. AT NO TIME DID WE RECEIVE ANY REQUEST FOR PAYMENT OF 300 EUROS BEFORE WE ARRIVED AT THE APARTMENT. WE HAVE BEEN VISITING ESTEPONA FO 25 YEARS AND HAVE USED VARIOUS RENTAL COMPANIES,YOURSELVES INCLUDED, OVER THAT TIME AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. THEY WERE EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL TOO WHEN WE REQUESTED HELP WITH A GATE FOB THAT DIDN'T WORK WHICH MEANT WE COULD'NT GET OUR HIRE CAR OUT OF THE COMPLEX ON NUMEROUS OCCASSIONS. THIS IS NOT THE KIND OF EXPERIENCE WE EXPECT FROM BOOKING.COM. PS. STILL AWAITING RETURN OF OUR 300 EUROS. WILLIAM GILLAN williamt.gillan02@gmail.com

  It was a lovely, well presented apartment that was in a great location and gave everything we needed. I would 100% stay
