Liked: The location and last minute pricing The beds were very comfy The shower was good
Disliked: The arrival was rocky. We drove 8h and were barely greeted. We weren’t given a choice but to pay upon arrival. I’ve worked in hotels so know the protocol which is to give a choice when it’s not prepaid. No bill offered. No explanations for anything except breakfast timing. No directory in the room so had to figure out the wifi with no indication (wouldn’t be an issue except again we had been driving for 8h). No air con. One pillow with no spares. I don’t want to have to call reception and ask for all of these things late at night! Breakfast was subpar. Cold bacon and no scrambled eggs except 1 cold spoonful at 7h10 (10 minutes after opening). Definitely not worth 11.50€. I spoke to the receptionist who barely smiled when I arrived to talk. She was very sweet but straight away looking to get out of any complaint I put to her. No air con = we turned it off on the main system. Great but it was boiling hot and we had to have the window open which meant street noise all night and changing rooms wouldn’t have changed anything if the whole system is off. No bins = b&b protocol is 1 with no bag in the bathroom. Right but 1 bathroom bin with no bag is unhygienic and I’d love to read the protocol that prohibits a secondary bin… would be a first for me! There are biodegradable bags instead of single use plastic. I ended up using the duvet as a second pillow because they don’t even put a spare in the cupboard!! No compensation, nothing except sorry that’s how it is. I hate writing bad comments, 9 years as a head of reception I like to try and solve problems with the hotel and be able to explain just that. But unfortunately we left on a bad note. We came here years ago and loved it but it’s gone so downhill I doubt we will be back. Would have been nice for the receptionist to either offer to escalate the complaint or offer some sort of compensation (even if it had to go through her boss!)

Disliked: Noise from the street
Liked: Overall clean and well maintained place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Less than 15 min by car from the airport, so a bit in the suburbs but with frequent buses into the city centre. In general spacious and quiet surroundings. Next to a big mall with shopping and food options.
Disliked: Shower water temperature unstable, sometimes suddenly getting hot or cold. Ventilation in the bathroom not strong, so when someone in a nearby room was smoking (albeit illegally) the smell completely came into my room. Breakfast options are a bit basic, but given the price I find it acceptable.

Liked: The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious clean and comfortable. Free parking was an added bonus. As was the complimentary tea and coffee station 24 hours.
Disliked: The hotel is on an industrial site out of town, but we did know that before booking.
