Guest reviews
Fabulous
Fit for purpose
Liked: Very clean, good price for our purpose
Disliked: Nothing
Decent little no frills gaff let down by some odd online contrivance
Liked: I was all set to give this place a one star and start off my review with the usual cliche of "if there was an option to give it zero stars...&c" but the staff were so friendly and benign that I can't bring myself to do it. Other reviewers have given the positives of the place, clean, quiet, etc. Single doesn't have room to swing a cat, but as Alan Partridge says "wouldn't want to though. Not unless it'd been stunned." Anyhow I'd left the moggy at home so it wasn't even an option. What really put the total dampers on the stay was the insane "app" or whatever it is called that they have developed for no conceivable reason. Arrive at the hotel, totally worn out from the road, hot and thirsty and gagging for a whizz. Doors locked and no one about. Well, this is pretty much par for the course in Spain these days. Call the phoneline and manage to communicate. Someone shows up and opens up. And here is where the trouble starts. They have this app, or some such thing, that they've developed. A few hoops to jump through just when you are totally not in the mood to jump through any hoops. You have to click this link and push that button and sign into this - just a vexation of the spirit, all of this - and then you are given some boxes to tick. The first being that you have to pay the tourist tax. You're all ready to start frothing at the mouth at this unexpected further expenditure when it emerges that the tourist tax is a paltry few pennies. Which nonetheless requires you to log into your bank account and all sorts. Would it have been such a loss to have the original price £41 rather than £40 and skip all this bull? Then you have to click this and that and now you have an absurd button on your phone that you have to select and swipe every time you want to enter the building or your room.
Disliked: ...staff has to resend the message again and it is all a total and utter faff. What if your phone, which has been on maps all day and is running low on battery, shuts off? What if you get drunk at the next door cafe and find all of this hoopla a bit too much to manage. I managed it but I can promise you my parents would not have been able to. Anyhow, as I say, the staff were very kind and eventually just wrote the code on a piece of paper for me to get in and out. So it all turned out ok. But really.
Liked: Worth for the money you paid.Look old but have everything it’s necessary.
Disliked: The Automatic light in the toilet which cut off during you took a shower.
Nothing to write home about
Liked: The staff are helpful
Disliked: Everything else was not good, the vender machine took my money and didn’t even give me my products. No person at the reception to assit visitors. Everything is digital, i was locked out when i arrived in the night, As a foreigner i didnt have wifi on my phone and yet the pass code had been sent through a link to my phone. Imagine being locked out at 1am in the night. Thank God my taxi driver was able to call the hotel and also shared his internet with me so i accessed the code. Imagine if he had dropped me off and left, with no local number to dial, i would sleep out in the cold.
Perfect stay
Liked: The location was lovely. Room was very comfortable with everything I needed. Check in instructions were easy to follow. Very reasonable price. Easy to get to the city on public transport.
Disliked: Nothing negative to say.
Affordable
Liked: Great, affordable, clean, basics, nice staff.
Disliked: Was quite far from the city centre. The bus to the train station that will get to Barcelona city centre can sometimes come early or late.
