Historic centre and La Porxada

To get to know the city, look for a place near Plaça de la Porxada and the church of Sant Esteve. It is the pedestrian area, with shops, terraces and the bars where locals meet after work. On Thursdays the market fills these streets from early morning, so there will be bustle and some noise in the morning. In return, you will have the restaurants and the weekend atmosphere close at hand.

Granollers Centre station

A short distance from the old centre is Granollers Centre station, on the R2 local line, which runs through Passeig de Gràcia and Sants. The city also has Roca Umbert, a former textile factory converted into a cultural centre. This area combines good links with Barcelona and a short walk to the Porxada. It suits business trips and those who want to spend a day in Barcelona without driving.

Granollers-Canovelles

A little further from the centre is the other station, Granollers-Canovelles, on the R3 line, which runs down to Barcelona by another route and up towards Vic. Around it are residential districts and wide avenues, with supermarkets and set-menu restaurants for everyday needs. Choose this part if you will be using the R3 or want a quick road out towards the Montseny.

Montmeló and the circuit

For a race, Montmeló is right next to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and has an R2 station. Sleeping there or in Parets del Vallès puts you close to the circuit entrance, although on Grand Prix days the access roads clog with traffic and it is best to walk or take the train. The rest of the year they are quiet towns, more for those travelling by car or for work, surrounded by industrial estates with direct motorway access.
