Exceptional
Convenient and good value
Liked: The apartment is on the first floor, accessed by a flight of stairs, so avoid big suitcases! The host was friendly, helpful and responsive. The apartment was a good size, although the bedroom was quite tight. There was no noise. The facilities were good, and the host left a bottle of wine for us. The location is excellent, just a ten minute stroll down into the town (village) centre, although that does mean uphill on the way back. There is plenty of parking near to the apartment (we arrived on a festival day, and it was very tricky to find parking anywhere in town, but this is obviously not normal). Avoid driving in the town if you can, as the roads were not designed for (modern) cars. There are several walks in the National Park whose start points are just a few minutes from the apartment.
Disliked: The lighting throughout the apartment wasn't great. Bigger bulbs are recommended!
Liked: We enjoyed the location of this apartment very much. It is beautifully situated among the mountains of Grazalema and within easy walking distance of local cafés, bars and small supermarkets. It also makes a very good base for exploring the surrounding area. The apartment has lots of traditional character, with wooden beams, terracotta floors and traditional tiles. The living room is spacious and there is a good size kitchen. We also appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine on arrival.
Disliked: Our main issue was the temperature. We stayed in August and the apartment was very hot and humid when we arrived in the afternoon. I knew when booking that there was no air conditioning, but I had assumed that the mountain location would mean the apartment stayed relatively cool. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. The bedroom was too hot to comfortably rest or sleep, and the only fan provided was a very small one. There was an issue with the hairdryer, so did not have one for the duration of my stay. The property could benefit from some updating. I mentioned this to the owner, who apologised and explained that the apartment is usually not hot and that she had ordered another fan. She also apologised for not responding promptly as she was away on holiday. I appreciated her apology and her willingness to address the issue. However, when operating holiday accommodation, I feel guests should be able to receive a reasonably prompt response when they have an issue during their stay, regardless of whether the owner is away. A small point was that although there was a kettle, there were no tea or coffee supplies. This would have been a nice addition, although the complimentary wine was a thoughtful touch.

Liked: Beautiful spot with a lovely view!
Spacious with a nice homey feeling
Liked: We really liked our stay. It felt like a home rather than a vacation rental property, The kitchen was complete, the living area and bedroom were spacious. The washing machine did a great job. The owner provided much information. It is at the top of the village, so access is easy by staying on the main road rather than driving through the village, There is plenty of nearby parking. We self-catered, but it is close to a 1km steep walk to the centre.
Disliked: Nights are cool in November. The primary source of heat was a fireplace, and we didn’t go to the effort to arrange for and purchase firewood, so we we relied on the small portable heater in the living area, that really wasn’t sufficient.
Wonderful stay in Grazalema
Liked: Beautifully located at the quiet end of Grazalema, close to hiking trails, this nice apartment had everything you needed for a stay of several days. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bed and sofa were comfortable. Parking was possible at a short walking distance.
Disliked: Access was through a small flight of stairs which we knew in advance. For us no problem, but it might be for disabled people.
