Liked: We liked the privacy of the villa and the coolness in the building after being outside. We loved the outside shower. We enjoyed the use of the tv at night time and appreciated the owners response to the complaints we had. We had a relaxed and enjoyable holiday which was our priority.
Disliked: The outside furniture around the pool needs upgraded and fixed in some cases. The pool area including the garden area needs more carefully tended The cleanliness in the building could have been better on our arrival and some upgrading of the inside is required to make it more attractive for the guests.
Such a horrible disapointment!
Liked: The town was charming and the house has potential to be very nice, but is in dire need of a makeover, cleaning and upgrading on furniture, both inside and outside.
Disliked: • The house spans two levels, yet has only one air conditioning unit located on the ground floor, that only works when the door is open to the poolarea -an unsafe and impractical solution. This means the bedrooms upstairs are hot at night, unless we left doors open and fans on. • Upon arrival, we found a half-eaten bucket of KFC under a bed, a water bottle in a closet, and later a bread under the oven — clear signs the property had not been cleaned to even a basic standard. • A rotting burger in a Burger King bag was later found in a kitchen drawer, producing a foul odor and confirming the property was not properly prepared for guests. • The cupboard under the sink was filthy, the fan in the master bedroom was covered in dust, and mirrors and windows were visibly stained. • The outdoor furniture was in deplorable condition — dirty, torn cushions rendered it unusable. The host eventually added covers over the torn mess, which did not resolve the problem. The parasol by the hammock is broken. • The pool was dirty upon arrival and could not be used for the first three days, completely defeating the purpose of a holiday home with a private pool. • We were given just seven towels for a family of five, and were denied additional towels or sheets, despite the listing stating that towels for both bathroom and pool use were included. • The listing photos are misleading and outdated, showing a well-maintained garden and quality furnishings, neither of which matched reality. • Bad beds, hard mattresses. • Several dogs in the vicinity of the property barked loudly multiple times a day, disrupting our peace and privacy. This issue added further stress to what was already an uncomfortable and frustrating stay. When we contacted the host, we were met with dismissive and rude responses that failed to address our concerns. We attempted to terminate our stay early and vacate the property, but the host refused, forcing us to remain in uncomfortable and unsanitary conditions.

Liked: The house and property are beautiful. It has a well appointed pool and garden area with a great barbecue facility. The gardens and foliage are very interesting and there is a view of the valley and sea in the distance. The house is modern and well equipped.
Disliked: The location is a bit remote. Güimar is a cute town though and you can walk to the centre square in about 15 minutes. Be careful though as the walk home is all uphill. If you don’t want to drive on winding mountain roads, this might not be the place for you but we didn’t mind.
