Fabulous
A conveniently located hotel with many bars/restaurants on the doorstep
Liked: The hotel is in a great location for all areas of Denia. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is of art nouveau design/shabby chic and has some interesting information and pieces of furniture. There is a lovely internal patio for drinks/breakfast. The bar is well stocked and serves good coffee! Reasonably comfortable bed but pillows too thick. Good shower and good aircon/ceiling fan. Lots of storage. Kettle and fridge a bonus. Glad we stayed but if we stayed again we would want more clarity on where our room would be.
Disliked: We booked a superior room and understood from Booking.com website that we would have a balcony. Unfortunately this was not the case and the receptionist told us that only some of the rooms have balconies but Booking.com don't stipulate that. Our room (303) was on the ground floor and had bedroom and bathroom windows overlooking the patio area. Because of this the windows were obscured (so a dark room and no view at all), with a blind that could be electronically lowered on the bedroom window. However, there was no blind on the bathroom window and the toilet was situated right in front of the window. It was quite disconcerting when showering at night with the light on when there were people on the patio. There was also a VERY bad drain smell in the middle of the night in the bathroom, which worked its way into the bedroom. Opening the bathroom window helped but then cigarette smoke from the patio was quite strong when we went in there in the morning. Another difficulty was getting to and from our bedroom door during breakfast time. The door opened into the bar/foyer area which was also used for breakfast. We had to disturb diners as there was no room to get between the tables/chairs for us to walk in and out.
Excellent value for money
Liked: Everything
Disliked: Couldn’t fault it

Stunning old Spanish charm of a gem
Liked: loved everything about this beautiful quirky hotel, from the courtyard garden dinning area to the cosy lounge.
Disliked: we had a ground floor room and our only negative point was we were awoken early by noise from the upstairs room above us, some mornings worse than others, however we loved the room and it didn't detract from the enjoyment of our stay.
Unique hotel - loved our stay
Liked: Liked everything so unique. Staff friendly and close to restaurants, the castle and the shops.
Disliked: No lift. Possibly my fault as I hadn’t read anywhere that it hadn’t got one. My friend spotted that it hadn’t the night before we left. The 3 of us are in our 70s and we were on the 2nd floor. When we left this morning there wasn’t anyone to help us with our cases. I had asked the night before if someone could help but was told to speak to someone in the morning.
Wonderful stay
Liked: Really quirky hotel, the building is very old and the owners have kept many of the original features along with more recent additions which blend in so well.
Disliked: Nothing
