Very good
Liked: A dream. This was for sure the best spot of our holiday. Not too much to do in the direct neighbourhood, but for a few days of relaxing this is perfect. 10 pools!, great breakfast and diner. And perfect weather and company. Just try it yourself:-)
Disliked: The resort itself. Nothing. It is perfect as is.
Our experience was overshadowed by the staff’s overly controlling approach, confusing restrictions within the restaurant
Liked: The hotel has spacious grounds, beautiful views and a peaceful, secluded location. Watching the sunset directly from the hotel was a highlight. Our room was fairly spacious and had a bathtub, which we appreciated. There were various activities, events and entertainment options within the resort. Breakfast and dinner offered a good selection of dishes, and we could always find enough food we enjoyed.
Disliked: The main disappointment was the staff’s approach to guests. We frequently felt monitored, corrected and redirected rather than welcomed. The repeated interventions made it difficult to relax and left us feeling that our personal space and enjoyment of the holiday were not respected. The service felt impersonal and focused more on controlling guests than making them comfortable. The restaurant arrangements were also confusing. Some sections were accessible to us while others were restricted. An area marked “adults only” required a separate paid upgrade, even though my wife and I are both adults. The distinction was not clear to us, and the way it was handled made us feel like second-class guests. We deliberately booked half board to avoid having to think about separate expenses at breakfast and dinner. Drinks were included at breakfast, but we discovered that they were charged separately at dinner. I could not find a clear warning about this in the Booking.com information I reviewed or in my booking confirmation. Only on our final day were we told that a drinks package was available for an additional €4 per day. Explaining this at check-in would have prevented considerable frustration. Instead, I was charged €3.20 each for two small glasses of draught Pepsi, approximately 200 ml each, which I found excessive. I raised this issue with both the hotel and Booking.com. Overall, the repeated checks, unclear restrictions and staff interactions spoiled much of the relaxation we had hoped for.
Liked: I can’t tell because we were not allowed in
Disliked: We were turned away because we did not want to wear plastic wrist bands 24 hours a day. The rule is that you’re not allowed to take them off and if you lose them you have to report immediately. The tragic part is, that according to the website that’s only obligatory for all inclusive guests, but we only booked breakfast, still the manager turned us away. A week later I tried to book again stating my point, but the hotel did not replay at all
Should be 5 star
Liked: The Hotel is amazing, the staff are very kind friendly and professional, the food is very good, remarkably quality considering how many people they are catering for,I would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.
Amazing family holiday
Liked: We visited last week on a big family holiday aged between 6 and 65. We absolutely loved the holiday and did not want it to end. Plenty of pools to play around in for the kids and never a lack of sunbeds regardless of if you get there at 9 am or mid afternoon. The food choices were brilliant and with fussy children it was still very easy for them to eat what they liked and enjoy it. The transfer is a bit of a stomach churner as it is up and down the side of the mountain. Quite a few people felt sick after it. Otherwise it was an absolutely amazing holiday and wouldnt hesitate to return!
Another triumph
Liked: Last year we visited La Palma and Esencia and I left a glowing review with 3 requests for our “inevitable return”. Well we did return this year and I was over the moon to find the 3 requests had been implemented. These being: more vegetable options in the Origen, longer bar opening times at the Coral, and entertainment in the Adult Only section. This hotel listens to their guests. We had never returned to a hotel before this time and I fear we may have to return again! Big shout out to Sari, Fredy and Silvia who all made us feel very welcome.
