Fabulous
Rather dissappointing
Liked: Very nice large apartment with microwave, fridge and hob. Very quiet as in the middle of nowhere. Had a free breakfast as Genius members.
Disliked: No one there when we arrived. We were the only people staying so were locked in after the member of staff went home. Felt a bit vunerable if there had been an incident that needed dealing with. Breakast was a bit of a joke as staff member had obviously been to the supermarket to buy provisions on his way up. Very disorganised had to keep asking for things. Restaurant was not very clean and had loads of flies. Bedroom had no kettle and couldn't work the hob. It is quite a way off the beaten track up narrow lanes so not for the faint hearted and the property was not very well signposted as there were other houses around.
Large hotel appartment in mountain location
Liked: Large arpartment with lots of space. Very quite location in mountain region.
Disliked: Cleaning was a bit on the low side.
Bad experience
Disliked: Beautiful place, with great design and surrounded by forest. Unfortunately, we stayed on January 1st and there was no one at reception to welcome us. There was no heating, no blankets, no hot water, and no Wi-Fi. It was also stated that pets were not allowed during that period; however, the room next to ours had two Belgian Shepherd dogs, apparently without proper supervision from the hotel staff, which made going outside feel unsafe. The reception, bar, and restaurant areas were left with dirty dishes and abandoned items, as the staff had left the property without taking care of their guests. It is a real shame, as the place has great potential. However, considering the price we paid (which is not cheap) and the level of service provided, we truly felt misled. There was also no commercial gesture or compensation offered for the inconveniences during our stay.

Liked: Loved the position, the surroundings; ease of travel to Lekeitio; warm welcome; spacious room; good dinner
Disliked: Breakfast was fine, however as the owners were away the staff left required more training in the restaurant department!
Great location and amazing sorriunding, but experience too "rustic" because of hands-off management
Liked: Let me start by saying the location is unparalleled: beautiful forest surroundings in the Basque Country. And the property is outstanding: fully renewed and comfortable apartments. It seems the owners really invested serious money to create an amazing luxury "cabin"-look experience.
Disliked: However, and given that said, the property is unfortunately not very well managed. No basic toiletries available (e.g. shampoo); or basic kitchen items (e.g. coffee, salt or olive oil, even some bottles of water in the fridge). We were not made aware of this, and needed to drive ~15 min at night to the closest supermarket (in the very narrow streets of Lekeitio). The property has a restaurant, but if you are planning to eat dinner (dinner. breakfast), you need to let them know 1-2 days in advance, as there is no full-time kitchen staff. And be aware there are no restaurants around, so if you arrive late you will basically have no options. We also had major problems with hot water not working, which couldn't be fixed until the people managing the property got there at ~9:00 am (which by the way delayed our entire itinerary of that day). This place has massive potential, but for some reason this lack of attention to details and not being on top of management ends up making it not such a great experience. I hope they improve this. I'll be happy to come back.
