Exceptional
A peaceful Camino finale, with wonderful hospitality from Sara
Liked: The two of us spent the final two nights of our trip here after walking the Camino from Santander over the previous five days. It was perfect for us: spotlessly clean, peaceful and comfortable, with excellent mattresses in both bedrooms. Sara was absolutely lovely and extremely helpful, and the generous breakfast basket she provided each day was much appreciated. She even arranged a taxi for us and, on one occasion, kindly gave us a lift into Llanes herself. Such thoughtful hospitality made our stay all the more special. The small spa — an indoor pool, hot tub, cold plunge and sauna — was a wonderful treat for tired legs. Everything was immaculate, and booking a private session seemed perfectly reasonable for a small rural property. We spent a blissful hour there after our final day’s walking. The kitchen had everything we needed for holiday catering. Anyone expecting a cordon bleu dinner after a day on the Camino would have received a Paddington Bear stare and directions to the excellent little sidrería less than two minutes away! There’s also plenty of choice in nearby Llanes. We had lunch on our final day at El Bálamu: probably the best fish we’ve ever had, and highly recommended. PS Having read the two-star review from 2014, we briefly wondered whether we’d booked the same place. Twelve years is, of course, plenty of time for mattresses, Wi-Fi and even kitchen knives to turn their lives around. We can’t speak for that earlier experience, but we heard no traffic inside the apartment, the Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and the positive Spanish reviews — easily translated with a tap — reflected our stay very well. We’re very glad we came.
Quiet with easy access to Llanes and the coast road and a well managed stay with Spa
Liked: Easy parking a nice little walk to the local bar / restaurant with good local food and local cider served the local way. The Spa was a real bonus and a real treat.

Disliked: Nothing The room air freshener was extremely strong. I am very sensitive to these though so not really a complaint but I found it very uncomfortable all over the apartment
