  A bit too small for comfort

  Liked: We liked the welcome we got from the lady that me us, with a sign saying 'Welcome Madrid Wendy'. That was very sweet. There was good communication with the owner. Two nice, large television screens in the apartment and a good size outdoor space, we're the key highlights.

  Disliked: The apartment seemed a lot smaller than in the photos. The bathroom was unusable for my husband, whines 6.4ft and weights 120kg's. He could not squeeze himself around the basin to fit on the toilet, nor could he climb into the impossibly small bathtub. Only one person can fit into the tiny kitchen at a time. We were constantly scared of bumping jnto things. Unfortunately, the size of the apartment just didn't work for us, despite the apartment having some nice features.

  Nice launch pad for sightseeing as very close to metro and having all what we needed

  Liked: Great to have outside space for sitting & drying washing

  Disliked: Bathroom space especially the sink being far to big

  Liked: Great value for the money. The apartment was clean. Air conditioning and washing machine worked well. The multi-level terrace was very cool, although we didn't use it much because of the heat. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable.

  Disliked: The bathroom is connected to the bedroom, so if you have people sleeping on the pullout in the living room, they have to walk through the bedroom to go to the bathroom. That was unexpected based on the listing, but not a huge deal. The pull out couch was very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on.

  Liked: Location, Host was nice. Apt is clean, smelled nice & nicely done. Balconies were an added bonus. We enjoyed our stay.

  Liked: Quiet, small, comfortable apartment handy to food places, metro, downtown Madrid. Appreciated being able to access from 1pm and also the chap coming to sort out the non-working AC after we let the owner/manager know. The two storey balcony, which has great views, would be fabulous in summer - no sun in winter though.

  Disliked: Cold apartment due to AC not working, but it was addressed pretty quickly and fixed quickly once we contacted the owner, then it was toasty warm. The tiny bathroom's functionality would be improved immensely if the oversized sink was changed to something more size-appropriate in that very small space. Be handy to have WiFi info, washing machine and AC instructions at the apartment - we had to request the WiFi info and wait several hours for a reply (which came as an ahtomated generic note in the Booking.com messages).

  Weekend stay for NFL Madrid

  Liked: The property was perfect for the NFL’s debut in Madrid. 40 min walk to the Bernabeu, 5 mins from Metro and a lot of food around the area. Very quiet area which was nice. A tidy, well equipped place to call home for the weekend. The host met us and used google translate to bridge the language barrier which I thought was great.

  Disliked: Not really much to dislike. The only small down side is if you are of the larger body type the toilet / sink situation could get tricky.
