  Excellent hotel in an excellent location

  Liked: Catalonia Gran Via has an excellent location, very friendly staff, and rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast is really good. Their lobby bar and rooftop bar are very nice. I would recommend it.

  Disliked: I was not expecting an exercise machine in my room, but I think it was my mistake when I booked. Looks like I chose a superior fitness room. But it did not really bother me.

  Disappointing despite nice location

  Liked: The location was good

  Disliked: It was being refurbished and therefore tatty. Also significant noise from workmen during the day. In the evening there was no hot water and overnight there was a persistent banging noise which kept us awake.

  Liked: The room was partially clean

  Disliked: The bathroom door was cracked at the edges and wasn't clean. I think it's basic to provide one bottle of water for free, rather than to charge it- I, of course, brought one for myself.

  We would recommend the property to anyone wanting to stay in the heart of Madrid and who is looking for a little extra l

  Liked: We very much enjoyed the location of the hotel, the staff, and all of the facilities. It was a great property to stay at. We particularly enjoyed the addition of the bunk in the room, so our daughter could easily sleep in the same room with us without making it uncomfortable or feeling too small.

  Disliked: It was a little expensive, but we understand the location is most likely the reason for driving up the price.
