  Great place, but I had a bad night's sleep

  Liked: The communication before my stay was really good, they got in touch to see if there was anything I needed, were friendly and replied promptly. I was happy to be able to store my luggage as I was only staying one night so this meant I could fully explore both days, and also because there is a 24/7 reception I could arrive and leave when I needed to. The staff on arriving to leave my luggage and check-in were really friendly and helpful, they all spoke good English which was useful for me as my Spanish is very bad. There was a bathroom I could use when dropping off and collecting my things too which was very useful. The room is basic but very nice for it's size and simplicity, there were basic toiletries, a smart tv and a mini-fridge in my room. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and there was good air conditioning. This was great for a basic, affordable stay in central Madrid. I enjoyed the movie posters and slightly mistranslated version of ET's famous line on the wall! It adds a bit of character.

  Disliked: Unfortunately my stay was ruined by a power outage that meant the emergency lighting in my room came on and off several times throughout the night disrupting my sleep. I did receive a text message the afternoon of my stay warning me about the planned outage and I thought this wouldn't be a problem as I'd be asleep, but there was an emergency lighting panel on the inside of my room that came on when the power went out at 2-3am which obviously woke me up and made it difficult to get back to sleep. It went out after a little while, I'm not sure how long, but this woke me up again, and then when the power came back on 5-6am it flickered on and off again. All I really needed from this accommodation was a good night's rest in a safe, clean and reasonably comfortable room and while it was safe, clean and comfortable I had a very bad night's sleep. This is unlikely to happen regularly but I was surprised it wasn't really acknowledged by staff or the establishment. Nobody actually asked me on checkout how my stay was and I was quite tired and grumpy from lack of sleep so chose not to bring it up then. I would strongly recommend the establishment to try and have any work that requires the power to go out done during the day or to disable these lights for these occasions in the future.

  Friendly and welcoming staff, comfortable accommodations, and a great overall experience

  Liked: The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The room had almost everything we needed for a comfortable stay

  Disliked: The bathroom is on the smaller side, and the soundproofing is poor, so you can hear almost everything from the neighboring rooms

  Great place as a base for a city break

  Liked: Centrally located, clean

  Disliked: A kettle would have been a good addition and it was quite noisy outside with trucks. Also could hear the toilets and showers from other rooms but it was bearable

  Super accessible place for attractions

  Liked: Very lose walking distance to many attractions and staff provided a map indicating where we were located and drew best route to the attractions we had wanted to see. There were many breakfast options available within 5-7 min walk. The bed was super comfortable and they had our bags kept from our arrival till we returned at check in time. Bags delivered to our room. The fridge in he room was a bonus we didn't expect but was a wonderful addition as we had some milk and wine to store Staff were super fluent in English ( im working on my Spanish so we tried Spanglish) We would recommend this hotel to anyone. The AC and the heat were also very responsive. Room VERY quiet on an inner courtyard room on the 3rd floor Hair dryer was in the room and worked great.

  Disliked: The only suggestion that wasn't a deal breaker would have been to add a coffee/ tea maker to the room.
