  The location is excellent, but some of the furniture and furnishings look tired. Not luxury

  Liked: The location is great, at easy walking distance to metro stations, restaurants and local shopping. Despite being in a busy area the apartment is quiet. The kitchen is small but well equipped and the bathroom is also small but clean and functional.

  Disliked: The lounge/dining room is cluttered with a large coffee table and a large artificial plant which leave very little room for guests. Despite having 6 chairs, the dining table is squashed between the coffee table and the wall and barely accommodates 2 people comfortably. The rug in the lounge/dining room needs a good wash.

  A great apartment to explore the city from a quieter neighbourhood

  Liked: The property is in a lovely residential part of the city in a large apartment building. The whole building is well maintained. The apartment is an ideal size for a long weekend, nicely furnished and with everything you would need for cooking and dining, if you were to stay in. There is a huge television in the living room and a good sized television in the bedroom too. The welcome tray is a nice touch.

  Disliked: Unfortunately the level of cleanliness in the apartment was a bit patchy. The bathroom was spotless but the bedding didn’t seem very fresh and there were some stains in the kitchen. It would also make the apartment seem genuinely “luxury” if the hosts standardised the toiletries. There were lots of random things on the bathroom counter obviously bought or left by previous guests, e.g. there was nappy cream but no hand soap. This is a small thing but it felt a little bit like staying in someone else’s apartment, rather than a holiday rental.

  Enjoyable

  Liked: No breakfast but great location.

  Disliked: Weekdays water took almost ten minutes to heat up because of low water pressure. We had to buy additional toilet paper. Otherwise, well furnished and quite roomy and comfortable.

  I would definitely book the apartment again for a next trip to Madrid!

  Liked: The apartment is clean, bed and pillows are very comfortable! Location in a nice area and close enough to main points. Some great restaurants close by. I did not use the kitchen, but it is equipped and ready to use if necessary.
