Charming neighborhood hotel in the heart of an area of great restaurants and attractions

Liked: Cute hotel in a wonderful location! The Baja Cava street where the hotel is located is filled with cute restaurants, and we loved the neighborhood and walkable proximity to attractions such as Plaza Mayor, Sol Square, etc. This was our last night in Madrid after a long travel day on a bus, as our return train from Granada was cancelled due to the accident. We were pleased they accommodated a late check-in. We were able to check in quickly and head out for our own tapas crawl on our street - many great options to choose from. Went to a fun place we wanted to try - Maison de Champions (mushrooms) near our hotel and it was great. Our room was nice and faced the busy street. Tip: you enter this hotel through the Posada Del Dragon restaurant, and they will call the hotel manager, who will come to you in the bar area to check you in, which worked fine for us even if a bit odd. You walk through the restaurant (a couple of steps inside) using your room key to access the hotel. There is an elevator, which we appreciated.

Disliked: Noise is a factor. Our room faced the busy street, and there was a lot of late-night/early AM noise from maintenance vehicles doing cleanup. Not so much from people in the hotel or on the street during our stay. You could hear the garbage trucks and loud crashing of glass bottles at pickup. Recommend that you bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Lastly, like many hotels, you need to have the room key inserted by the door for power/air and the fan in the bathroom was loud and didn't have a shut-off, so we took the card key out, but then the devices we plugged in stopped charging.

Liked: The location is center of the city. We can go all the famous places by walk.

Disliked: The room was too small for 2 people and the ventilation was not good, so it was not good to stay comfortably. The price was too expensive considering all these conditions.

Great stay! They accommodated us getting in earlier and gave us a cool room above some of the ruins of the old corrala

Liked: Cool historical building, in a great area, regular room cleaning

Disliked: A little noisy being that there’s a cafe on the first floor but it closes earlier
