    One of the worst accommodation

    Liked: Location

Disliked: This was one of the worst accommodation experiences I’ve ever had. Nothing went right from the very beginning. A day before check-in, the host messaged us saying that the curtains were broken — and they actually cover the entire living area, so without them it’s impossible to hide from the sunlight. The reason given was that “previous guests broke them,” but honestly it feels like everything in this apartment is broken, and this message might be sent to every new guest as a standard excuse. We decided to proceed with check-in anyway. The only “compensation” offered was to arrive two hours earlier than scheduled — check-in at 5 p.m. and check-out at 10 a.m. already seemed suspicious. When we arrived, we discovered that the terrace door couldn’t be locked, and the terrace itself could easily be accessed from the roof. On top of that, there were noisy construction works going on right outside — something no one bothered to mention in advance. Only after several messages pointing out that this was a serious safety issue did the host agree to fix it. It’s unacceptable to treat guests’ safety and their belongings with such disregard while insisting that “everything is fine.” The apartment itself was very small, with old, worn-out furniture, broken items, and a non-functioning air conditioner. During our stay, it was quite cold, and the AC could have at least provided heating — but no one even attempted to repair it. Meanwhile, there were tons of house rules from the host with huge penalties for the smallest infractions. My favorite example: if you damage a towel (worth no more than €5 and already very old), you’ll be charged a €20 fine. It feels like the host created every possible rule to earn money from guests, while the apartment itself is in terrible condition — especially the bathroom, where the fixtures are broken, the hot water runs out after five minutes, and the wall paint is peeling off.

Will not come back to this place

Liked: The location was good and the terrasse is indeed large. Shower pressure was good.

Disliked: The place is tiny and has an unpleasant smell. The hot water runs out very quickly. The hosts want to charge an unfair amount for « early check/in » and « late departure » and the timings are unreasonable (5 pm for check-in and 10 am for check out).

Good location, tiny and uncomfortable/smelly place

Liked: The location was great, next to El Retiro park, close to public transportation. Yes, it has a good patio but this is. Or something you can really use in the winter… App to enter the building and the appt worked really well.

Disliked: Tiny apartment. Really tiny, you can barely walk in there, it doesn’t even have a table with chairs to sit. It smells bad, so the owner added an air freshener that was very strong and wasn’t really helping as it makes you dizzy… either bad smell or getting sick with the freshener. The main door opens but then drags on the floor so you have to push hard to come into the appt or to close the door. We were four, so one bed in the mezzanine but the other bed for two came from the IKEA couch that had to be extended, and in order to do that the rest of the furniture had to be rearranged and then you couldn’t even walk; so this could be for three, not really for four people. The water doesn’t last for everyone; one day my daughter had to remove shampoo with freezing cold water… then we learned to take 1 min showers for the rest of the week; not good, not an enjoyable vacation. There is a coffee machine, but the didn’t leave any pods, not even one, so I didn’t know what to buy. Once you pay in advance, you’re stuck; it’s not like you get a different room. It is not a comfortable place… at least not in the winter. Not for the price we paid. We paid for location, nothing else. For two maybe… if you can stand the smell.

Disliked: We informed the owners that will be a family of four, but they prepared the linen only for 3 persons, so we had to sleep over a dirty linen, the clearance of the blanket also created some doubts. More than this there were only two towels for all of us, it caused some discomfort. There are a lot of restrictions in the apartments, but shortage of service and basic comfort

    Great location!!!

Liked: The link to get the code to open the street door and the flat door was easy to use. We did not understand in the beginning but the host explained to us how to use it. It was very good. The location is very good as well, it's just in front of the most beautiful park in the city.

Disliked: I did not like that after our stay the host wanted to charge us 150 euros for damaging the table. We did not damage, she said it was a glue on the top table and said to Booking.com we have done "multiple scratches", we haven't. I recommend to take pictures when you arrive and report to the host if you find any anomalies around. Something else I did not like was how difficult was for us to get upstairs, I didn't expect the stairs to be so small. If you are a big person, overweight or not fit, this stairs might be a hazard during the night going to the toilet.

    Exceptional

Liked: Joanna is a really lovely host. You don't even have to ask her about the best restaurants in town - she recommended them herself! The location of the apartment was great. Close to the center, but also a wonderful park. Just wait until you see that terrace <3
