The hotel itself isn’t terrible, but the overall experience was disappointing

Liked: The hotel is spacious, and most of the staff are friendly and pleasant. There’s also a table tennis table, and they organize a small tournament on Saturdays, which is a nice touch.

Disliked: TL;DR: Unexpected extra charges, including an outrageous €80 per day for staying with a small dog (€50 pet fee + €30 mandatory room upgrade), which almost doubled the original booking price. Poor communication, ants in the room, and an unpleasant smell from the shower. The first red flag appeared right after we made our reservation. We booked a room with one double bed, but the next day we received an email saying that the room type we’d actually get would depend on availability. If we wanted to guarantee the room we’d booked, we could pay an extra fee of roughly one-third of the original booking price. We always travel with our small dog, so we contacted the hotel in advance to let them know. Unfortunately, our message was completely ignored. We’re used to paying a pet fee of around €15–20 per night, but at this hotel it was €50 per night, plus an additional €30 for a mandatory room upgrade. Apparently, their standard double rooms are too small to accommodate a 3 kg dog, so we were required to pay for a larger room. The hotel could have easily explained these charges when we contacted them before arrival. Instead, they chose not to respond and only informed us at check-in that our stay would cost almost twice as much as originally booked. On top of that, we found ants in our room, even though we were staying on the top floor. There was also a very unpleasant smell coming from the shower. Overall, the hotel itself isn’t that bad, but the combination of unexpected charges, poor communication, and issues with the room made the experience quite disappointing. We definitely wouldn’t stay here again.
