  Would never come back

  Liked: Not much.

  Disliked: The cleaning standards are sub-par! We came into extremely dirty pillows that looked like someone took a no.2 on them before. The sheets were already dirty and the mattress had huge stains of mold. We were told this is a non-smoking throughout property, including outside. Not even on the balcony or around the pool. However this was not published on Booking.com, and the hotel is not abiding by the Spanish Laws that oblige them to display no smoking allowed signs throughout all the areas where smoking is prohibited (including outside). In terms of the food- I wouldn’t feed my dog that food. 50% of the meals I was able to eat something. The other 50% of the time, they served RAW chicken and some stews that looked awful, and tasted like dish-soap. The “variety” is fruit and boiled vegetables. The “all-inclusive” is not really AI. You get a cheap beer or 3 “cocktails” that taste like juice. The good drinks must be paid for. The pool was freezing and the beach you see in the pictures next to the jotel looks nothing like it! It is extremely dirty, and it doesn’t have clear water. Looks like a polluted river!! Stay away! It is not worth your money! Everything is average at best.

  Liked: Access to the sea good for snorkeling, quiet hotel, good for relaxing, no stag or hen parties

  Disliked: we were not given our all-inclusive bracelets until 3 pm, meaning we couldn’t use the restaurant or other all-inclusive facilities and had to go into town for food. After an early morning flight and barely any sleep, we felt far from welcome until 3 pm. Everywhere else we’ve stayed, the bracelets were provided on arrival, even if the room wasn’t ready. The pools are in the shade all day, making the water very cold. The food was acceptable but lacked variety, and the barmen at the pool bar seemed tired and unhappy to serve guests. Overall, the experience could have been much better.

  Liked: A wonderful all-inclusive stay with amazing food, friendly service and a beautiful sea view I really enjoyed my stay at Occidental Cala Viñas and was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the overall experience. The location is beautiful, with direct access to Cala Viñas and lovely views of the Mediterranean. The food was definitely one of my favourite parts of the stay. Every day there was a different culinary theme, including Spanish, Italian, Mexican and other international options. There was a great choice of fresh fruit, salads, cheeses, nuts, honey and desserts. The jamón and guacamole were especially delicious — I had them every day! The staff were consistently friendly, attentive and professional. Tables were quickly cleared, empty dishes were replaced and the restaurant area was well maintained. The room was clean, comfortable and cosy, with a pleasant view and everything necessary for a relaxing holiday. Housekeeping was provided every day. I also really enjoyed the evening entertainment, with live music or performances every evening. For me personally, another highlight was the fitness room. The sea view from the cardio area is fantastic and makes working out feel like part of the holiday rather than a chore. Overall, Occidental Cala Viñas offers a great combination of beautiful surroundings, good food, friendly service, entertainment and relaxation. I would happily return and would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing Mediterranean all-inclusive holiday in Mallorca.

  Excellent food

  Liked: Excellent food was the top highlight of our stay. Evening entertainment was also enjoyable, especially the staff’s performances. Most of the staff were kind and helpful. A huge letdown was the temperature in the common areas. The restaurant and the evening entertainment area were stuffy. Besides, we landed in a top-floor room (3501) which was extremely hot at night, and the alternative was noisy AC with no real ability to set the temperature (AC on all the time or off). We asked for a room change multiple times but that never happened. While booking, make sure it’s not the top (5th) floor. The views from the 3rd and 4th floors are equally good but the rooms are cooler.
