Exceptional
Authentic living in malaga experience
Liked: Good location, good value. Had everything needed. Great shower, well appointed kitchen Basics done right. Clean, tidy.
Disliked: Bedding, mattress and beds average quality. Drab interior and boring views. Check in was clunky needing to call someone and wait. Why no lockbox or keysafe? Overall quite good though for the price
A little disappointing and in need of modernisation
Liked: This top floor apartment is of a good size (but see below regarding the useable area) and was near to the beach, places to eat and near the bus route into Málaga Centre. Buses are frequent, reasonably priced at €1.40 each way and seem to run into the night. The apartment is in a quiet area with no noise from outside at night. The outside area is quite large and has some shade. Although the property is surrounded by large buildings, it was good to have an outside area to sit in.
Disliked: The main problem with the top floor apartment is the steeply sloping roof. We are quite short (5'6) and kept hitting our heads. There is a 3 metre wide strip along the length of the apartment where you can stand upright, but outside of this zone (which includes getting out of bed, most of the kitchen area and the dining area). Ouch! We had read reviews on this and didn't really believe it, but yes, it is true. The other big problem in July is the inadequate Aircon. The top apartment gets the sun on that sloping roof all day as well as the hot air from lower floors. The aircon is old, probably needs a service and in the living room it just can't cope. It's ok in the bedroom at night though. The apartment is in need of maintenance, with a cracked shower tray, bathroom fittings coming away from the wall and an old, rusting table on the patio and a non-working clock on the wall. The bed was ok but very small. Cleaning could have been a little better;, on arrival there were used pods in the coffee machine, a hair on the tea towel and we mopped the sticky floor. A nice touch would have been a couple of coffee pods to use on arrival, and more than the one bin bag for our 9 day stay. Some instructions on settings for the washing machine and local information would have been helpful. We'd also suggest a couple of shelves for packing/unpacking suitcases would be good. The bedroom would benefit from a light switch that's reachable from the bed. Access to the apartment is with a physical key. We felt that an access code or key safe would have been better than taking a bunch of keys to the beach. There was an emergency number, but places tend to have a WhatsApp contact which might have been helpful for directions, arrival and departure details etc Although outside the control of the owner, it is worth mentioning that the street has a flight of steps to get to the beach/buses which would be a problem for people with mobility problems.
Liked: It was a whole apartment with separate bedroom and all amenities one needs while away from home. The owners were lovely. Rocio was very pleasant to talk to and easy to communicate with.
Disliked: Nothing to complain on our end.
Fantastic, I didn’t want to leave. I felt so comfortable and at home
Liked: I cannot fault this accommodation. The host was so helpful. I explained I was a woman travelling on my own and he did everything he could so I would’ve feel safe on arrival and have easy access into the apartment with step-by-step instructions. I will definitely stay there again because the location for me was perfect.
Disliked: The property was clean, airy and had everything I needed
Nice apartment located near beach. We enjoyed our stay
Liked: Location was great for us - we were starting our bike rides from there and it was just few blocks from the road leading to Puerto del Leon. Good equipment, comfy beds and had almost everything we needed.
Disliked: Someone likely boiled eggs in the kettle, there were also some shell residues inside so we didn't use it.
Your second home in Malaga
Liked: I loved everything about the stay at Palos apartments. 2 minutes away from the bus station. A very short walk to the beach. Also the supermarket Mercadona is very close. Very nice and quiet neighborhood and great host who is willing to help out with everything. Room was cozy and felt like home. I will definitely come back soon
