  Liked: The house itself is well equipped, although it was missing shower gel, which would have been especially useful for guests arriving by air. We had to buy our own and left the remainder behind for future guests. The visible areas of the apartment were clean, and the Wi-Fi worked well throughout our stay. The property is spacious, with plenty of room for our group to relax comfortably. The outdoor views are absolutely stunning, particularly from the swimming pool, which was a real highlight. The air conditioning was also very effective and much appreciated, especially with temperatures exceeding 30°C. There are walking and hiking trails just a few steps from the house, making it a great location for those who enjoy being outdoors. The host was respectful of our privacy and gave us plenty of space throughout our stay.

  Disliked: A car is essential if you stay here. The nearest shops are around a 10–15 minute drive away, and there doesn't appear to be any public transport within walking distance. Most beaches are approximately 50 minutes to an hour away by car. Although the visible areas of the house were clean, there was dust behind the drawers, under the beds, and cobwebs beneath the radiator. We also saw a few small cockroaches in both the kitchen and the bathroom during our stay. The property only has one air-conditioning unit, located in the living room. When temperatures exceeded 30°C, the rest of the house became very warm, especially the bedrooms, making it difficult to sleep comfortably. The fans provided helped a little, but they were quite noisy. The biggest disappointment was the communication before our arrival. A week before our stay, I informed the host via Booking.com that we expected to arrive between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm. They replied that they would send the self-check-in instructions via WhatsApp, and I provided my WhatsApp number at that time. However, we never received the information. Our flight was delayed, and after landing in Barcelona, I sent another message through Booking.com to let them know we were on our way and politely asked for the check-in instructions. Unfortunately, I received no response. By the time we reached the property, it was almost midnight. After a long day of travelling and driving in the dark, we were exhausted and unable to access the accommodation because we still had no entry instructions. I tried calling several times but only reached voicemail and left multiple messages. At that point, we genuinely thought we might have to spend the night in our car. Eventually, we noticed lights on in a separate building opposite the villa. We knocked on the door several times before a woman responded through the window. I explained that we were tourists trying to find the apartment.

  Wake up to the warm sun on your face

  Liked: Location is unbeatable, views of the valley are superb. Views of the mountain from the pool are breath-taking. No car sounds. Birds chirping. Great treks starting from the doorstep.

  Disliked: While location is incredible, it really is a bit isolated, with the closest store more than 10 minutes drive. Not great when you find out there were no capsules for the coffee machine. The heating system works great, but it makes a noticeable intermittent extraction sound (a few minutes off, a few minutes on), which may be a nuance to some. It is particularly loud at the terrace. We encountered a few millipedes and quite a few wasps, but they were not an issue and...you are surrounded by nature!. Access to the pool is not direct from the apartment, you need to walk around the main house, which makes it rather inconvenient.

  Amazing place to stay if you are in Montserrat

  Liked: We really liked everything about this place. The house is spacious with a nice living room where you can nicely relax and have a meal altogether by the big table. Beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. On top of it you get great views from the windows. Highly recommended. I also appreciated good communication with the owner:)

  Liked: We picked this property, a house actually, because of its proximity to the Monserrat Abbey, our main destination. It was within easy driving distance, albeit rather tight being in the mountain. The view from the property was excellent, and the mountain air very fresh and clean.

  Disliked: There was nothing we didn't like.

  Beautiful Mountain Stay

  Liked: Amazing mountain getaway! The house was the perfect place to do some hiking, lounge by the pool, and try some local activities (e.g. horseback riding, cheese farm, Spanish restaurants, etc). The setting was even more beautiful than the photos and you could hike directly from the house!
