Acceptable for the price
Liked: A very decent room — clean, quiet, warm and cosy. No problems at all if you complete the online check-in in advance and get the electronic key.
Disliked: The location is awful: it’s in an industrial area, very dirty, with a cheap bar right across the street. By the time we got there, I was shocked by the amount of rubbish and the number of people hanging around outside. Since I was travelling with a child, I seriously considered just writing off the money, turning around and booking another room in the city. The room also smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, so we had to air it out for quite a while.
Liked: My husband and I travelled from the UK to Palencia to see the total solar eclipse of 12th August and stayed here for five nights. The room was spacious, very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was large, with a nice shower and modern. We also appreciated the free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and good wardrobe space. The hotel does not offer breakfast, but despite being located in an industrial area, there are several convenient places nearby for food and drinks. There is a restaurant and café right next door, and just across the road there are two bar-restaurants serving tapas. There is also a supermarket about a 5-minute walk away, which has a café. Around a 15-minute walk from the hotel, you can also find McDonald’s, Taco Bell, pizzerias and KFC. Overall, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay
Disliked: The room did not have a refrigerator, which would have been very useful for keeping water and drinks cold, especially as the temperature reached 39°C during our stay. Although paper cups were provided, we would have preferred proper glasses. If you don't have a car, the location is a little inconvenient, as the hotel is in an industrial area and quite far from the city centre and the train and bus stations. There is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel, which is helpful, but buses only run approximately once an hour and unfortunately are not always reliable. On the day we checked out, we left at 7:00 am to get to the train station, but the first two scheduled buses did not arrive, so we ended up having to walk for about 40 minutes with our luggage.
Consider stay elsewhere - they might not find your reservation
Liked: Room was nice, even the location looks weird and its not quite clear where you can park your car. Coffee form the place next door was good, as this place has no breakfast.
Disliked: Checkin in this place was terrible experience. There is nobody present, just a kiosk to check you in remotely. The staff could not find our reservation at first, than the kiosk rebooted mutiple times and we was connected to different checking agent who could not care less about the situation. Whole process made me uncomfortable, includint taking pictures of our travel documents and signing contract in spanish - not english. AC in the room went bonkers as even set for 26°C cooled to 19°C and could not been turned off.
Liked: The room was spacious and well equipped
Disliked: The check in procedure was complicated and I ended up phoning the help line twice The WiFi code was not available or there were no instructions to access I arrived on a Sunday and nothing was available to drink or eat after a long drive from Portugal
