Liked: Very gothic, cool hotel, safe underground parking for motorbikes, staff very helpful 😊

Old world luxury
Liked: Location is a close 2min walk to the town and the train station. The building is a beautiful and a well cared for historic building, that I enjoyed experiencing as a guest. The bed was comfortable and the room very clean and fresh. There is complementary wifi access and small fridge (no freezer) in the room. They have 24 hours reception. Staff are friendly and helpful. It was a relief to not have to use my poor Spanish to communicate - as all the staff I came across could speak fluently in English.
Disliked: This is not a dislike but more a suggestion to include in any future fit out upgrade to powerpoints that include option for direct USB (A) cables to charge mobiles/lap tops/iPads
Very disappointing,will not stay in the future
Liked: Location was good for visiting the old town and parking was also good
Disliked: Property was in need of refurbishment. Poor bed linen, poor quality towels no refrigerator,had to seek an additional key for the safety box,furniture was generally poor quality. The hotel is a2* and not 4*as advertised on the building Poor check in.Staff never mentioned possibility of breakfast or evening meal.No lift access from the garage to the hotel.
Liked: The hotel was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent—close to the main attractions, easy to get out of town, and with a nice park right in front.
Disliked: However, there were several issues during my stay. There was no Wi-Fi in my room, the lamp did not work, and I could not figure out how to turn off the air conditioning. Most importantly, the fridge was not working, which meant that some food I had that needed to be kept cold went bad. Overall, it was a pleasant and well-located stay, but these basic amenities and maintenance issues should be addressed.

Super hotel, good location for visiting Ponferrada
Liked: Quirky medieval hotel in a good location.
Disliked: Unbolt control the AC it was either on or off! Only one pillow each and no spare blanket. Only one person doing everything during breakfast, overworked and consequently ungracious and unhelpful.
