Exceptional
Absolutely beautiful, calm and relaxing stay
Liked: It's impossible not to relax here. Excellent views, fresh air, mesmerizing peace and quiet. The staff is very helpful; the food is absolutely fantastic (eating at the pension's restaurant is the only option here). Rooms are clean and comfortable. The basic price, even at the time of the solar eclipse, was very decent. The people you meet here are not random ones; they usually explore Picos de Europa - very interesting folk.
Disliked: I didn't know how much the menu del dia cost until I had to pay for it, but compared to a relatively cheap overnight stay, it was quite a lot. (But it didn't matter to me because it was so good.) Getting anywhere from here is quite a challenge, but that's the point of this mountain escape:)
Had a wonderful short stay at this outstanding property in August this year
Liked: This was a very special place, in a very beautiful location. The most special thing however is the caring and clearly passionate host who is friendly and makes delicious home cooked food for her guests to enjoy. Highly recommend.
A disappointing stay
Liked: The views were spectacular in all directions. The building was quaint and the vegetable garden and roosters were fun.
Disliked: The food choices were very limited. Breakfast was toast and a muffin. No fruit, no cereal, no eggs, no juice, no porridge. Dinner was more substantial but very meat heavy--no vegetables. And the nearest store or other restaurants are a 40 minute round trip on a very windy, narrow road. You may want to bring some of your own food. And avoid arriving after dark, it is very difficult find. Our room was tiny and creaky.
Very relaxing and excellent value
Liked: Really nice place for an overnight stay (or longer). Great building, fantastic staff and a stunning location
Disliked: Motorbike parking was a bit tricky as the car park slopes quite a lot but we found a spot that worked for us
Looking to get away from it all, this is the perfect place
Liked: A beautiful place up in the mountains. The views were spectacular. Even though we were the only guests there, we were made very welcome and the hosts even made an evening meal for us.
Disliked: The bathroom could have been doing with some updating.
Wonderful, our best accommodation of this holiday and that includes some paradors
Liked: The location and the view of the mountains from our room were wonderful. The posada is beautifully and tastefully furnished. The food was very good and in sensible proportions. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they spoke English quite well and even brought in a Granddaughter to help with translation. I could not fault the place and it was great value for money.
Disliked: I can’t fault it!
