  very pleasant and friendly

  Liked: Thank you for such a pleasant stay at Posada El Azufral, we loved the room, the outside area was perfect and we had a great meal in the eveining. THe shower was brilliant and a very comfy bed too.

  Mixed feelings

  Liked: My feelings are mixed on this place. It’s really nice in many ways: super quiet and peaceful setting, beautifully designed building, very clean, delicious breakfast (extra cost).

  Disliked: We were disappointed that there was not a restaurant on site even though Booking.com says there is. The guesthouse sells cold cuts & cheese and decent wine in the evening, but we were forced to leave the front porch because we also wanted to eat a salad we bought elsewhere. Instead of guests in a guesthouse, we felt very unwelcome. Also the Wi-Fi was quite spotty, but it got better after we mentioned it to the host (maybe he reset it).

  Liked: The boy at the reception was super helpful, spoke great English and was very efficient. Nice breakfast spread and beautiful location.

  Disliked: The garden room tat I had was very small and felt congested - not so obvious form the pictures. The lady on the phone didn't speak English but also sounded a bit upset and irritated when I tried calling. I did try to cancel due to change in plans but was not able to as it was too late so maybe thats what they were upset about but nevertheless, she sounded a bit annoyed. But the boy we meet was wonderful and super helpful so that was fine. The location can be a bit tricky as there are a few other hotels nearby and we almost went into another one. There wasn't any amenities in the room like coffee or even water...everything had to be bought separately and they aren't very flexible about check in especially if you are running late.

  The property was atmospheric but the service didn’t match

  Disliked: There was limited facilities for evening meal only cold meat and cheese. The staff were not very informative when booking in and eventually the son was able to give us a little information

  Great B&B for hiking, a beach day & tranquility!

  Liked: Posada El Azufral is a picturesque and very quiet B&B located central in Spain's northern national parks. It's a perfect get away for hiking in the area and recharging yourself afterwards. The owners of the B&B are welcoming and take time for their visitors. Breakfast is very flexible, as you can decide how extensive you want it to be each day. And if you don't require breakfast for a day, you can just skip it. A couple of times we ordered a lunch package, which was perfect for a quick morning and to continue your own journey for the day. If the weather is sunny, you can also decide to go to the beach, which is 60-90 minutes drive from the B&B. Overall it was a very nice experience staying at this accommodation. All was clean, cozy, well arranged and delicious when it comes to the food served. It's central for going south, north, east, west, which is perfect for those who seek great hiking trails in northern Spain, those who sometimes seek a day at the beach and especially for those who love to be surrounded by peace and quiet.

  Disliked: We would've liked to have a hook on the wall to clip the shower head on, so as to shower a bit more comfortable while standing in the bathtub. This was missing when we decided not to take a bath (but it wasn't a dealbreaker).
